Im writing this review on the cab ride back from Ruffino. Hands down one of the highlights from this trip to Italy. It was a nice break from the craziness of travelling across Italy - and the treacherous heat. Our gracious host, Silvia, made the experience even better with her warm personality and knowledge of wine and the Ruffino estate.... More

Looked up which vineyard to visit locally and we hit the jackpot. Easy to find we were enthusiastically greeted by our guide Silvia. Her depth of knowledge and warm, friendly approach made our tour of the winery excellent. The tasting and explanations at the end makes it easy to recommend a must do tour when in Tuscany.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour, led by the knowledgeable and personable Greta. Everything was made easy and friendly from the first email to the arrival and our purchase of a case of the Brunello (not imported to USA). We did not have time to randomly explore wineries, and we have long been fans of the gold label Chianti Classico Riserva,... More

We (husband and wife) knew we wanted to visit a winery while in Italy but had some time constraints in our schedule. We were hoping to visit a winery close to Florence in order to be in Lucca by early afternoon. We randomly selected Ruffino and were extremely pleased with our selection. We scheduled the Winemaker for A Day Tour,... More

Visiting the grand Ruffino estate isn't really that far from Florence and at whatever distance it's a jewel in Chianti's crown. Met with a warm genuine welcome and shown the estate, vineyards, production and aging facilities, had a barrel tasting, then to the formal tasting room. We sampled the Chianti Classico and a number of the Ruffino labels, accompanied with... More

A brief ( thirty - forty euro) taxi from Florence and an opportunity to learn an incredible amount about wine making in a beautiful setting. Sylvia met us and introduced us to the history of winemaking and Ruffino followed by a very interesting tour of the property - complete with the opportunity to take a close look at the grapes.... What a wonderful afternoon the 3 of us enjoyed at Poggio Casciano ! The very lovely Greta welcomed us to the estate. She related the history of Ruffino as we sipped caffe outdoors on that sunny afternoon. It was so peaceful and what an incredible view ! Greta made every moment of our winemaker for a day tour truly interesting... More

Very fun, intimate and informative tour that gives fascinating historic account of wine making in this region of Italy. Definitely a tour for wine drinkers who appreciate the passion that goes into Chianti wines. Our tour guide, Greta, provided much insight into the region and the long history of creating beautiful wines. Excellent wine choices for tasting after the tour.... More

Our wine tour of Italy would not have been complete without a visit to one of our favourite winemakers. Booking via e-mail was very easy and they made sure I had lots of information on their tour packages and how to find our way to the vineyard. We had the Winemaker for a Day tour and really enjoyed every aspect... More

My family and I recently returned from a two week tour through Italy and the Ruffino winery trip and "winemaker for the day" experience was most memorable. After initially communicating via email, Lidia, the marketing director and resident viticulturist (who provided us with a very personalized tour) was genuinely enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable on all of their wines as she...
