The only thing I can add about the tourist information Bureau itself is that it was closed when I arrived on a fall weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed myself just walking around and looking at the beautiful town with a changing leaves and colors but I do think having a guide would have been a huge advantage since I didn't see... Come and walk with Vera and Trudy Make Büdingen a must see destination when traveling to Germany next Around 700, the wooden church of Saint Remigius was built. Today, 1300 years later, Büdingen is an attractive family orientated medieval town complete with fortified walls, watch towers and town gates as well as a castle in which the original family is... A genuine "off the beaten path" experience, Budingen retains most of the fortifications and buildings from the middle ages. The walking tour with Heidi, in English, gives a much better understanding of how the town has evolved, including access to some things gs not usually open to the public. A great day trip from the Frankfurt area (we stayed in... More

We visited the medieval town of Budingen on a day trip from Frankfurt. It was a quick and easy train trip (@ 1 hour with one transfer at a tiny station) that transported us into another time. Before leaving Canada, we had arranged for an English speaking tour guide by emailing the town's Tourist Information Office and, on arrival, spent... More

Visited on a day trip from Frankfurt. Easy 1 hour train trip and a 15 min stroll from the station to the old town. Strolled into the Tourist Information office, made an enquiry about guided tours and a phone call and 20 mins later Heidi arrived for our personal guided tour for our family of four. A cold, damp day... More

We stayed in Budingen for 4nights the first week of October and we were fortunate to have excellent clear, sunny weather. We had never visited Germany before, but rather than take a tour or do extensive traveling we decided to visit one town the was both historic and not overrun by tourists. With the help of the internet we chose Budingen,... In September 2012 my husband and I stayed for 4 nights in Frankfurt Germany and decided to make a day trip to Büdingen. We had arranged via email ahead of time a guided tour in English with the Tourist Information office. It was very easy to set up and arrange through the tourism website, and we paid for it when...
