We went in the morning with all my family, including kids and my brother in law who is a french somelier. He was particularily excited to get to know the vineyard, because his family owns a vineyard in France.
We were welcomed by a reluctant security guard who instantly told us we couldn't enter with kids even if we were going to be with them all the time. We finally manage to pass to the parking spot to be "greated" by a second person who again gave no option for the tours and the only available option to stay outside.
We asked to at least be allowed to enter the shop. He answered that we had to pay 69.000 pesos (20 dolars) per person, which for a group of 8 only to enter the shop seems outrageous and almost a scam.
We decided to leave and go back to the town. We really don't recommend this experience!

Nice to know that Colombia makes good quality wines. World class educational tool in wine culture. Very nice wine tasting and pairing. The view with the lake is awesome

This was a nice surprise we stopped at while passing by. We live near Napa , California where the owner was educated for wine making. The place is professionally run with nice facilities. The wine I tried, a Syrah, was very nice.
Worth a visit.

Easy to get there if you are in Villa de Leyva. The tour is short, within 50 meters of the meeting point, but the staff is very charming. Place is clean and if the weather is nice, you can enjoy a nice time time at the open outdoor tables.

This is a very nice well-run winery. The setting is beautiful and it is a very nice place to relax with a glass of wine.
The wine itself is not that bad given what the wine maker is up against. In terms of making wine - this is something of a gamble. They are still trying to sort out what kinds of grapes to grow. When we were there they were selling several Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a Sauvignon Blanc. There is also a Merlot in the works. They had tried making a Chardonnay but gave up on it due to disappointing results.
Here is the problem they face growing the noble grapes of Europe. The winery is located a short distance north of the equator. This location has for all intent and purpose no seasons. While this does allow for a crop every nine months instead of every 12 months, grapes need seasons to stress them and then allow for recovery time. As a result, the grapes are small and have little complexity. It is what the French call Terroir.
Still I give them high marks for educating Colombians about wine and wine making. Lovely place.

We don’t speak Spanish and were not sure if we could do tastings without a tour. We cycled out there (with a map avoiding the main roads very helpfully provided by Ciclotrip in the town) and at the entrance purchased COP 60,000 of credit. We went inside and redeemed this for three glasses - white, rose and red, for us to share as a tasting. We spent another 10,000 to get a cheese and meat platter too.
Had a great time trying the wines on the terrace among the vines - didn’t expect that in Colombia. The red we had was very nice and we took home a bottle of red and white. Very expensive by Colombian standards but that is to be expected for small scale production.
Staff inside could be friendlier but the guy on the entrance was very nice.

This is was a peculiar spot for me. I love visiting vineyards and I never thought I’d find one in Colombia. The vineyard is small but very beautiful. Everyone was so nice, and its pretty worth the visit. The wine is pretty good, given the climate challenges they face in the area. I definitely recommend visiting this place if you want to do something different and just enjoy the scenery with a nice glass of wine.

Set in a stunning location in a valley surrounded by mountains (a £1 bus fare from Villa de layva) . Very friendly welcome. Wine tasting is 20,000 (£5) each, and you get to try a rose, a sauvignon blanc and an amazing grand reserve Cabernet Sauvignon which was excellent. You can sit outside if the weather permits seeing lovely colourful birds. Card payments accepted. A great experience i would highly recommend.

A relaxing and tranquil place to visit and the red Gran Reserva and Reserva Especial are both amazing wines. We had the Gran Reserva in a restaurant in Villa de Leyva so it was great to see where the wine was made. The tour was quite short and ended with a glass of red wine. The only problem was the tour was only in Spanish which meant my girlfriend had to constantly translate which wasn’t ideal. I was surprised they didn’t offer a tour in English.

Bogotá, Villa de Leyva, Aim Karim vineyard; peaceful trip, at the vineyard a guided tour (Spanish only) helps to understand how and why they make the wine, pretty informative and beauty visit, at the end a glass of wine as part of price, white and good wine (I think so), you also can buy bottles and enjoy in the garden, great option to share with friends, wife, husband and even to propose!! If you need transportation or a guide I'll be more than happy to help you with that... iltcrule@gmail.com

Taxi costs about 20 mil one way. Taxi drivers will stay and bring you back... we paid, 10 mil to stay. So 50mil for all. Ask for the cab driver Carlos at the bus terminal..he gave us this rate. My friends paid more.
