We guide bicycle tours, following the criteria that best suits our guest's taste. We have an experienced guide that speak in English, and the best service in town, for cyclists of all experience levels. Ciclotrip also offers hiking and birding tours to Iguaque Sanctuary and other natural private reserves. The starting point for all tours is at your hotel in Villa de Leyva.

My friend and I were in Villa De Levre hoping to hike up to the Laguna Iguaque . We discovered that sadly it is currently closed to visitors so we were looking for a local hike to do, and the options we found were pretty unappealing.
I had kept a link to Ciclotrips and was delighted that last moment Francisco was available to take us to visit Yataros.
YATAROS - THE AMAZING WATERFALL
It was just as described, but much better! Francisco was delightful and filled us in on the local and national politics as well as being an amazing birding guide, which was a complete bonus. We didn't swim in the waterfalls , but others were. It was a fabulous walk through the forest with enough up and down to make it interesting. A really great day out from Villa. We stopped back to pay by credit card at Franncisco's wife, Angela's fabulous craft store, which is situated away from the bustle of the main square. This tour is a great way to get out into the country and soak up local knowledge along the way.

Highly recommend Ciclotrip...we hired bikes for the day and couldn't have asked for more. Such fabulous, friendly service, high quality bikes and equipment, great maps that can be downloaded directly onto your phone. Very reasonable price. No need to look elsewhere. Many thanks!

We spent 9 hours with Francisco, birding and hiking to Yataros waterfall. I took over 500 pictures (granted, many will be deleted as out of focus or bird gone when the shutter clicked) and was thoroughly entertained all day. His wife, Angela, was great to communicate with ahead of time, setting up our tour, and answering all questions quite quickly. Since we had our own car, Francisco came to our hotel at 0445, and he rode with us the 45 minutes to Gachantiva. We saw (or heard) dozens of birds, and Francisco is so knowledgeable, and has the Merlin app on his phone for picture ID help. The "hiking" was mostly walking slowly, looking for birds, but it was definitely hiking to get down to the waterfall and back up. We are 60 and 62 y/o and had no problems. Francisco was kind enough to have a slightly slower pace on the uphill climbs, allowing us to keep going steadily, but not be panting or have heart pounding. After 4 hours on our feet, we stopped to sit and eat the snacks we brought, at the reserve where you descend to the waterfall. We hiked 11 km total, with the last 2-3 km on road (and me wishing it was over already), but it was here that we saw some tiny orchids and had some good bird spotting, even though it was early afternoon.
This was definitely an investment in time and energy, but oh so worth it!

The owner and his wife are really friendly and helpful. Francisco gave excellent instructions on how to get at places nearby with a good map and by showing photos. The bike was very sturdy and I got a small toolkit including a spare tire. I could call him whenever I needed help. All in all I had a great bike-day around Villa de Leyva :)

very nice staff, bikes were in tip top shape, went on the trip without a guide as a choice and the directions given by Francisco were right on the dot... All in all a good plan for biking amateurs and pros, eager to go on a guided tour next time and for a rougher ride

Ciclotrip definitely has the best bikes I’ve rented so far on the South American continent. Their attention to detail when explaining all the possible routes is very welcome! If only I decided to rent a bike outside of the rainy season... oh, try to get to Eccohomo monastery. It’s worth the climb!!

After reading about Ciclotrip we went there to hire bikes. We weren’t disappointed. The service is excellent. We are an almost 70 and almost 80 year old. We do cycle once a week in Belgium but that really is our only exercise. We chose the easiest route which passes by many of the places to visit around Villa de Leyva so you could stop and visit El Fossil, the winery , the ostrich farm and many other places. We spent 5 hours with the bikes and didn’t get lost once due to the care taken by Ciclotrip explaining the route with pictures on their computer screen and a map for at least 20 mins . The bikes were well maintained but should we have had a problem they had given us a phone to call for help. Excellent. Thank you.

Owner Angela is extremely passionate about her company and helping visitors have a good outdoor experience around Villa de Leyva. She drew detailed maps, explained thoroughly, and showed photos of every turn and crossroads of the routes. She gave multiple options according to what we want to see and do. The second day we rented she upgraded our bikes for free to give us a better experience. I highly recommend utilizing Ciclotrip to explore VdL by bike, whether you want to ride hard for exercise or pedal softly and take in the landscape.

We found Cicklotrip on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try. And didn't regret! Angela, I hope I remember it right ;), speaks excellent English and is super friendly and helpful! She explained the whole tour with photos of the main points in order not to get lost and also gave us a map. The company provides support in case smth happens on the road plus they can give a phone with a local SIM card so you always can reach them. Bikes were in good condition and we really enjoined our self guided bicycle tour around Villa de Leyva. Highly recommended! Thank you!

Nothing but great things to say about this company.
We hired bikes for the afternoon (they also offer guided tours but can't comment on that). The quality of the equipment was great, but the real benefit was the owners and their attitude.
Francisco and Angela were two of the friendliest people we have met in Colombia. They speak perfect English and helped us to have a fantastic self-guided tour, pointing out all the sites of interest, hand-drawing a map, and giving us a photo run through of the directions so we wouldn't get lost.
Amazing service, and made getting around a cinch. Look no further in villa de Leyva for a tour company!

Hola Buenos días, puedes rentar la bicicleta todo el día, pero las mismas deben siembre retornar a nuestra oficina antes del anochecer. Puedes reservar una bicicleta para varios días y venir a recogerla cada mañana y dejarla en la noche, así podemos hacerle mantenimiento en caso de ser necesario y te aseguramos un buen desempeño del equipo.

Tenemos varias opciones de toures guiados, que puedes ver publicados en nuestra página web
El más corto (15 kms de 3 a 5 horas) también es el más popular pues la dificultad de la ruta es baja y pasa cerca de los atractivos turísticos más relevantes de Villa de Leyva: Pozos azules, museos paleontológico y del fósil, observatorio Muisca y Casa de Terracota. Este se puede extender un poco hasta el viñedo, hasta Sutamarchán o hasta el monasterio del Santo Ecce Homo. Si desean hacer una ruta de aventura de nivel intermedio les podemos ofrecer la visita a las cascadas de la periquera y al pozo de la vieja, esta tiene una duración aprox de 5 a 6 horas para toda la ruta de 30kms.
Tenemos también rutas de alta exigencia que duran todo el día y pueden tener hasta 90kms. Estos toures incluyen bicicleta y accesorios, agua, snacks, guía y asistencia técnica en el camino.
El costo de cada tour por persona es:
Ruta del desierto: $80 mil pesos
Ruta del desierto extendida: 90mil pesos
La periquera y pozo de la vieja: $90mil pesos
Toures de aventura para todo el día: $130 pesos
También pueden rentar una bicicleta e ir por su cuenta, el costo de renta de bicicletas por hora es de $8mil pesos y este incluye:
un mapa trazado con la ruta que elijan
una bicicleta de montaña
casco
candado
forro de gel para el sillín
kit de herramientas
asistencia técnica en el camino.
Si deseas reservar tus bicicletas necesito los datos de las personas que van a tomar el servicio (nombre, número de documento y estatura), confirmar fecha exacta y hora estimada de salida y a vuelta de correo te enviaré un botón de pago por $30mi pesos para confirmar tu reserva.
