I was disappointed by this site. There is a fee to visit this house. It is not expensive however, when compared with the rest of places you can see around, it is expensive as the others are more interesting and do not charge.

The house is falling apart. It is not very well-kept. Curation is very poor. There is no information on what you see. Art is not appealing. Colombia has very impressive artists. Whatever is exhibited here, it is not impressive. They could do a much better job.

I have to say that it is a rather peculiar and somewhat disappointing museum, mainly due to the works or sculptures in the courtyard that, in addition to being deteriorated, look like a collection of garden decorations. I don't recommend it, besides being a little expensive. It would be better to choose to enjoy a delicious millefeuille which will not disappoint you.

Because this is his house, and has examples of all his artistic styles, as well as his hobbies and avocations. I had never even HEARD of him, but the museum is right on the main plaza, inexpensive to visit, and open on Sunday morning, so why not go? SURPRISE! Acuna was a sort of 20th century Colombian Renaissance man, co-founder of an artistic school that took its motifs from the indigenous Indian artistic style - which I found fascinating, since his ancestors 300 years before had been the Spanish rulers responsible for subjugating the territory - a sort of making amends to the locals, it seemed to me. Look at all the styles of art in my photos, you really can't describe it verbally! He was also responsible for preserving many of the other historic buildings in Villa de Leyva. If you're an art- lover or history buff, you won't want to miss this museum.

It' s an interesting place to see Mr. Acuna work, such as some unknown sculptures and painyings, as the old Indian groups living in Colombia mithology gods...Not usual to find this elsewhere.

An awesome place to visit and get to know a genius person that lived not so long ago.

The paintings and sculptures are something else, even if you don't like art that much a little bit of history of his life, and work would make you love this place.

Is a change of perspective.

This is the home of an interesting Colombian artist who seems to be relatively little known in the US or anywhere outside Colombia. This makes it all the more worthwhile to visit. He lived here and the place is both museum to his art and his home. It has both a large collection of his own art, including paintings, sculptures, and tapestries, plus other art which he himself collected. Some of the art he did to decorate his home.

It is located right on the Plaza Mayor in the heart of town and we found it to be one of our top places to visit in town.

Small but nice collection worth the time. The house is lovely and the pieces are eclectic and fun. We were glad we went.

This museum is the house where Colombian painter Luis Alberto Acuna lived the last 15 years of his life. It is right on the Plaza Major. While it doesn't note it on the plaque on the door, the museum is closed from 1230 - 200. The house is filled with a wonderful collection of his varied paintings and sculptures. I particularly liked the huge murals on the inner courtyard. There is a guide but, unfortunately, the only languages they had when we were there were Spanish and French. Costs 6000 to enter.

This is a really overlooked museum with many interesting items especially colonial art. I did not know about this artist before and I was impressed. They have guided tours as well. Very nicely displayed.

This museum hosts piece of art that many museums in and out Colombia would love to have. Walking through its rooms is having a walk through a memorable part of the History of Colombian art.
