You should visit this beach in the evening before the tide comes in. Light sand with beautiful palm trees and a new, good concrete path. Very quiet. You can watch lots of sea creatures up close. Unfortunately there is no beach bar. The washed-up trash and trash left behind by tourists is a nuisance and should be removed more often.

The beach has lovely soft sand. To experience it as it does in most pictures, you should pay attention to the tide. At low tide you can see millions of crabs. It is also very busy in the late afternoon. There are some secluded beaches with some shade on the island.

the beach looks extremely impressive from the air, but with part of the water on one side being still and rather a mud area, it is not so impressive as in the pics. Nice bar and megaswing though nearby!

About 30 min ride from Santhiya resort to Laem haad beach. the best time to chill out here is 1pm to 2pm because of low tide (local tour guy told us). The route to this location was not easy to find, however just ride slow and notice the sign board. Along the beach is quite windy, you can feel the sand is 'blasting' your leg as you walk down. We been here in mid September, is raining season, but lucky we got a sunny day when visit the beach. very nice place to take photo.

This place is definitely worth a visit if you are staying on the island. It's a strip of sand that points towards Koh Yao Noi. Unfortunately it suffers from what most of these 2 islands do, Rubbish ! The grass and sand on the spit as well as the water is full of litter.
There is obviously no cleaning plan on the islands, as they are choked with litter everywhere which is a real shame. Hopefully, as tourism picks up, they will put something into place to clean the area.
The water around the 2 islands is pretty polluted and cloudy, so swimming is probably best at your resort. The day that we went, one side of the spit had an algal bloom, and the other had piles of plastic and other litter.
One of the disappointing places we visited.

We went by boat from the Santhyia but we had to arrange this privately as the hotel strangely did not offer it ! Mad. It was stunning and well worth the hour boat journey along the islands coast. Get there around 4pm and see the tide go out and watch the sunset. There were only a few people there which gave it a very unspoiled feel to it . A must do if you are on Ko Yao Yai or Noi .

Me and my wife and 8 yo son are staying at the Santhiya resort. Today we rented two scooters in a village (250 THB) and wander around the island. We ended up here after about half hour. The beach was pretty much empty. Just few locals family and few other couples sipping drinks at a little kiosk that is in the process of building a cement structure that is spoiling a little the place.
We wanted to take a bath but unfortunately we noticed there were many dead jellyfish on the seashore and some we saw in the water so we passed.
We found some curious fish that live also on the seashore and jump back in the water when you get close.
It was a beautiful afternoon.
I just felt kind of sad because there was some plastic around and plenty of little polystyrene balls around.
