We spent our honeymoon in Thailand and booked two trips at Our Magical Thailand.
The tours here are more expensive than the stalls you see in the villages, but they all have no license and you are not insured if something happens. You can also share the boat with up to 8 strangers on boat trips.
Bei Our Magical Thailand sind alle Touren privat. Tour language is English and also easy to understand.
We had a mangrove kayak tour where Gift told us a lot about the local nature and culture in which he grew up. He studied marine sciences (I think) in Phuket after school and is super familiar with the animal and plant species of his homeland.
He has made it his mission not only to offer tourists beautiful excursions, but also to address the ecological aspects.
At the end of the tour we planted a new mangrove from the kayak, the already sprouted fruits harvested poison from a tree at the beginning of the tour. Thus, each of his tours contributes to the protection of the habitat.
Two days later we did an island hopping tour, where Iob accompanied us. At first glance, he is a pretty crazy guy, you get to know him a bit, but you realize that he also knows and can tell a lot about the area. Because we were only on the longtail boat, Iob fully responded to our wishes and we used almost every stop for snorkeling.
In between, Iob told us how he experienced the tsunami in 2004 when he was 15 and how it affected his family and his entire environment.
Outside the entrance of a lagoon we had a picnic on the beach. Again, he responded to our wishes and headed for a beach that was not so full of people.
I also liked the stop at Monkey Island, where some monkeys could be seen on the beach, some of whom, especially the younger ones, dared to enter the water to collect fruit pieces from another boat. We ourselves did not throw fruit into the water because it was enough for us to see the monkeys on the beach.
A total of two beautiful excursions, during which we not only explored the surrounding area, but also learned a lot about history and culture.
We can absolutely recommend Our Magical Thailand and would definitely book further excursions when we are back on the island.
