It's an easy bike ride or walk from the town center. The ship is beautiful but apparently undergoing some renovations on the deck so we were told the museum wouldn't be open in 2017. It's still worth seeing the outside and the beautiful waterfront.

Visiting the Pommern was really very interesting, we only had 3 hours and I could've easily spent more time there. The history of the ship is told well and you can start to imagine what it must've been like to travel from Australia to Europe...More

that's really must visit place, when you are in Mariehamn! Pommern is a big, historical ship, where you can walk everywhere. You can see all the ship rooms and decks. Highly recommend to visit!

This is a must visit in Marianhamn! Just don't miss this. Inside the museum is very interesting and it's very well organized. Good place for kids to get inside the wonderful world of ships and ocean! Yay!

The Pommern is an imposing, graceful presence in Mariehamn's Western harbour. You can wander around the decks at your own pace -- there's a comprehensive, if somewhat dated, exhibition on sailing and life at sea below decks. The interiors show signs of wear and tear.

Visited it during a rainstorm and it gave me the chills. One of the few surviving ships that used to sail the seven seas and the only four masted one to remain in the world. Seeing how the crew used to live, alongside with the...More

This is a marvelous way to spend anywhere from a couple of hours to a half day exploring how freight was moved around the world before the days of huge container ships. The fact that this sailing ship was used for trade into the 1940's...More
