I arrived tired and wet. A member of staff took hold of my buttocks with both of his hands and manhandled me across reception. I was very shocked. Another member of staff shouted at us, because we were having a conversation in the reception area - quietness was expected, although we had not been told. Then a man yelled at me for wearing clean, dry trainers indoors. He wanted me to wear sandals, which I did not have. This place takes thousands of euros every night, but in cash only. Risk of fraud and inconvenient for pilgrims in a rural area. The female bathroom had a flooded floor, but nobody mopped up the water. Management weak, in my opinion.

Very well organized monastery accommodation for pilgrims. Even though almost 200 people sleep here you wouldn’t know because the dorms are arranged into well built pods of four. Cheap washing of clothes organized by volunteers! Food was a bit ho hum but for the price couldn’t complain. Great atmosphere. Need to get there early though - many pilgrims got there too late and were out of luck. Can try to reserve in advance though.
