A quick photo opportunity as you pass by. The church looks old, but wasn't open when drove through. This location is generally the first stop for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago.

We enjoyed visiting the cloister here, and the fine tombs. In particular, see the tomb on Sancho VII, which is particularly impressive. Worth paying the admission charge.

Roncesvalles is a very small place. The monastery is a great place to see and visit. It's well located (right in front of the Roncesvalles Hotel).

The Monastero is an amazing part of the history of the Camino. The walk through the beech forest and onto the grounds of the monastery is wonderful. Be sure to review the history and the Chanson de Roland.
