We were lucky enough to have locals tell us about this attraction, the park is lovely but the train rides are a bargain with the best glimpses of water. Kept my children very happy You can see the volunteers love for it the track is pristine along with the tunnels and viaducts Lovely family attraction

This miniature railway is situated in the same area as the Marine gardens The track is a double loop with several tunnels, two viaducts, one station and has a track length of approximately 1 kilometre .. Adults and children can ride on the trains.. It is advertised as being open on Sundays, between 1.00 and 4.00 pm depending on weather conditions.

This is a great place to take the grandchildren - the train something from a by-gone era and keeps the kids away from the X box and the like. Out in the fresh air on a warm day or wrap up if it's cold. Had a picnic lunch. Swings and slides in the park - MAGIC. Hope it keeps going forever and bringing enjoyment to our family.

My son loves this. Every time I took him here, 1 round is never enough. The route is pretty far, the train is well maintained, the staff are really nice. And it's in a very cool park.

We lunched in raumati, and noticed a garden across the road.We decided to go for a walk, and it opened up to a large park, there were all sorts of areas for kids to play, and there is a miniture train ride, which was closed .Theres slides swings, flying fox, sand pit, climbing frames etc,and a water play ground that must be open in summer. Also saw free gas BBQ,s and picnic tables, which families were cooking on.Theres a walk up a small hill that you get an awesome view of the Kapiti island and sea.
