I could also watch them harvest the lavender-had no idea how it waqs done,is very labour intensive. I bought some lavender soap for $5,but theres a lot more other lavender products for sale. The area is a lot smaller than I was expecting and there is no road sign to direct you. I could only find it by approaching from... More

It's a very pretty place with plenty of lavender to frolic through, though there were so many tourists on the Sunday we went. I recommend going earlier than late January, as they've harvested quite a bit by this time.

Glad we went though the lavender is not yet in bloom. The owner of the farm is very welcoming and even allow us to visit their own garden. The surrounding view is breathtaking too. Good place to get lavender essential oil. Not expensive. Hope to visit the farm again when the lavender is blooming.

A nice little field and a shop with lavender products. We enjoyed walking in the field and inhaling wonderful lavender scent. P.S no toilet on site so don't count:-)

Not very far away from Auckland, Alphra Lavenders could be a stop for your 1 day trip or weekend trip to Hamilton. The season is from late November to late February if memories serve me right. I would recommend calling to check with owners first whether it's opened for the day or not. Great for photos and free to enter.... More

Been meaning to visit for 3 years. Finally got there and was amazed that this is a free thing to do in this day and age. Smells so amazing! Really enjoyed hearing the bees buzz and taking some fun photos.
