I found this place very boring and overpriced. They advertise a lot with cars constantly driving up and down the main road blasting advertisement and then they have hundreads of people bothering you with their leaflets. It seems they pay all their money on advertising and not finding good muay thai fighters.

Myself and my wife were going to go to the stadium but the advertising vans driving around the Island blaring "TONIGHT, TONIGHT, TONIGHT" followed by "WE WILL, WE WILL ROCK YOU" were so annoying that we decided not to go. The vans could be heard everywhere as they were so loud, I really hope they could find a better way to advertise as they spoil a cheapen the Koh Samui experience.

The fighting was okey, nothing special. But the atmosphere around the fight was very bad and you could notice that there is maffia in this scene. Furthermore, the marketing team of the muay thai in Koh Samui is extremely annoying. Everywhere you go, you hear cars driving around, screaming "we will we will rock you" and then another car comes with another irritating advertisement that u should visit the stadium. Dont just dont. Trust me, you will only give ur money to these crooks who will keep irritating other people while walking down the streets.

Kind regards,

After the Koh Samui taxis, the Chaweng Boxing Stadium must be the biggest rip-off in Samui. I was visiting Koh Samui with my Thai family and decided to go to the boxing. The Thais were allowed in FREE, but the foreigners were charged between Baht 1500 and Baht 2500 ($46 to $78) per person. But the worse was to come: I was not allowed to sit with my family. There is a section of the stadium that is designated 'Thai Only' and the Thais must sit in there. I went into this area with my family and I was told to leave, so spent the rest of the rather poor show to sit on my own. The stadium was, not surprisingly, nearly empty, apart from a load of Thais squeezed into their corral. Dreadful waste of money and not at all entertaining, give it a miss.

I wanted to see Muay Thai and was happy to go to this stadium, but the music that they play around town is just so annoying and loud that I couldn't swallow giving these jerks a dime. Don't go until they stop ruining this island with their crazy noise pollution.

Booked to see the Muay Thai boxing And was cancelled due to the severe rain and flooding. Paid 1500 BHT each for me and my partner, only to be told we could attend an event later in the week or we would be refunded if the weather didn't improve. The following few days we rung the stadium to organise using our tickets to attend only to be told they were invalid and no refund was available. Completely contrary to what we were told immediately after the fighting was previously cancelled! All about getting your money! Didn't appreciate the lady I spoke to at the stadium shouting at me when trying to have a civilised conversation.

You can't help but hear about it if you stay in the chaweng area , every 10 mins there's a loud speaker going off somewhere reminding you about Tonight , Tonight.....
So we took the kids and we loved it !
What spoilt it slightly was we sat in the first seats that the children found only to be thrown out of them by a very rude Thai lady who pointed to a big red sign that clearly states Thai people only ??
Is that allowed ? , that's called racial discrimination isn't it ?
The couple shown in the picture are about to get thrown out too !
Apart from that little issue we had a great night , well worth it , the kids loved it !
That's good enough for me , we would go back ( if they take that offensive sign down )

I didn't go to the stadium, but I did hear about it. Every 10 minutes when one of their trucks drove by with external speakers blasting information about the upcoming fight.

Tacky, obnoxious, and ruins the vibe of the area.

Totally ruining Samui, blasting out the first 10 seconds of "Eye of the Tiger" constantly, over and over. You cannot eat dinner in peace, you can't avoid it at the beach. It does not stop, constant boats back and forth along Chaweng beach, constant trucks driving past blaring out this theme tune, totally ruining the place, they actually ruined my days at the beach and my evenings, I would never visit Chaweng again based on this nonsense. It did my brain in, and even local shop owners were covering their ears, this is really not fair, I would never go to this stadium based on the horrific advertising. If it's worth seeing, word will spread, anything this heavily advertised is bound to be naff. Its not fair on people who have come here for a holiday and have to listen to this constantly....

Something that was totally different in terms of the usual sports I have watched.
I have never been one for extreme or fighting sports, but I have to say I was so impressed at the skills and toughness that these boxers showed on the night.
The drinks unfortunately were over priced.

I would definitely recommend to anyone considering if its worth entry fee to go for the night.
