Easy Scooter Rental (another review from a return customer)
Feb 2020
Saai Book Shop is our go to scooter rental shop in Koh Samui. Centrally located, easy to find, super friendly staff and great bikes. After arriving on Koh Samui the night before we headed down to Saai Book for a scooter. We were offered a brand new scooter which only had 32kms on it. Transaction was easy and only a copy of your passport is required. We will back.

Dont drive in mountains, brakes can suddenly dont work...

We was in a big crash and we did not get any information before. Im not shure how they do service on the machines, they look new but never trust a scooter again.

The acciden been very bad and result in 9 day in trauma unit at bangkok int hospice.
And after a very expensive transport to my homecountry more than 30 days in hospital. I say to all my friends to hire scooters because if the brakes stop working you are on a death trap.
I was off my work for one year...
Its not worth it!!

Cost my enormus money!!!

The owner is greedy and the keep our passport even this extraordinary situation.
Helpful but also only business business...

So first, never ever give them passport, have copy, and if you hire. Dont drive in hills or mountain and only one person each bike.

Im back in samui today and go only by taxi.

I rented a motorbike for the day and everything in regards to the transaction was very pleasant.
Dec 2019 • Solo
Everything was handled very professionally and I felt the transaction was very fair. I was referred to the store by another guest at the hotel I was staying out. He has rented in the store multiple times and has had no problems whatsoever. In talking with the owner I felt very very comfortable with the transaction and had a good time riding around the island for the day. Thanks

Best Place on Samui to Rent a Scooter
Aug 2018 • Solo
I always rent from Saai Book Shop even tho my condo is in the Bo Phut. They've never tried to over charge me or claim that I've damaged a bike when I didn't. I did drop a bike once and I told Saai when I returned the bike and she was more than fair with the charge... So much that I gave her more than she asked for. I always hear of night mare stories of scooter rentals in Thailand but I'm very happy to find this place and will always be back.

Friendly place to hire scooters
Aug 2018 • Couples
A very friendly place to hire scooters to explore the island. Was very accommodating and willing to accept alternate currency instead of Thai Baht since we didn't want to be stuck with the Bahts as we were leaving the country once we returned the scooter.

Hiring Motor Bikes in Koh Samui
Jun 2016 • Family
We have recently spent 12 days in Koh Samui and we hired our Motor Bikes from Saai Bookshop.

This is our 3rd trip to Samui and our last trip we had an unpleasant experience with the business we hired our Bikes from.

Not so with Saai Bookshop. They were very pleasant and easy to deal with and we would highly recommend them. Saai Bookshop is located in Moo 3 Road at the northern end of what is essentially the main shopping and restaurant strip in Samui.

Having hired Bikes 3 times now what we have learnt is that you need to shop around and try and find a business that 1. Has new or newish Bikes, 2. the person you are dealing with speaks good english and 3. they are Thai as opposed to foreign.

Some Do Nots...

1. Never give your Passport as part of the deposit - take Colour copies with you and leave those but be sure to show them your original

2. You are better off leaving a large Cash Deposit than handing over your original Passport. We hired 4 Bikes and paid THB5000 per Bike deposit

3. Photograph every mark and scratch on the Bike you are taking and take a video as well

We would highly recommend Saai Bookshop if you are looking at hiring Motorbikes in Koh Samui

AVOID!!
Sep 2014 • Friends
They claimed I damaged a scooter - Honda Click 125 which I only used for an hour and a half. They had a scam where the very ends of the aluminium brake levers were foreshortened, and a fabricated metal tip was loosely stuck on, of course this falls off without any notice while riding. With a cunning smile the proprietor of the travel business tried to make me pay. The bike was otherwise in perfect condition, ie. no sign of any accident which could cause the damage. This business seemed good on the surface - would avoid if I were you.
