Great views, it is worth straying from the trail to get there. In May you can still see snow on the nearby mountains.

The highest peak in Gorce mountains, raises up at 1310 m. For many years hidden in forests, inaccessible due to private owners objections. But in 2014 Gorczński Park Narodowy purchased some parcels of land on top of Turbacz for the Polish state, and it became widely open for everyone. Due to complicated Polish law in nature protection, especially when it comes to the national parks, this area belong to national park, but it is outside national park boundaries... Anyway, the main Polish trail, marked in red, and called GSB (Główny Szlak Beskidzki) now goes through the peak, instead of going around it using public dirt tracks. But even now the major junction of marked trails is about 0,5 km east from the top, at the Schronisko PTTK na Turbaczu. It takes at least 3 hours to ascend Turbacz from the vilages in the valleys, and there's a choice of many colour marked trails. And after recent forest clearances the views from the top are superb, especially towards Tatry mountains.
