The road to this very historic mill is rather rough - you need a car with a good ground clearance. The history of the mill is interesting, and you need to consult the voluntary curator (076 294 6516 before visiting. The condition of the mill...More

Thank you for the wonderful review. Our Non Profit organisation looks after the "unmanned" heritage sites in and around Bathurst. The restoration and maintenance of the Old Mill was our first project. We are now turning our attention to the Toposcope

Gentleman who looks after the Mill provided lots of information, and even set the Mill in operation. With more funds it could be a greater draw for tourists

Dear Ian thank you for the feedback. The Mill is funded through donations to a NPO called Historic Bathurst. We always hope for donations and paid trips to the Mill. They allow us to maintain it as best we can

This was one of the highlights of my visit to Bathurst, definitively a must do. You follow a gravel road to the mill, there is signs and its easy to find. Once at the gate you phone the curator if he is not there. The...More

Thank you Justin, Our revolving curator system involves a group of volunteers. The curator on duty will be delighted by your feedback. Seeing the wheel turning with the weight of a stream of water is a special experience.

We never made it to the mill as followed the sign that led down a dirt road. Unfortunately this was so muddy that we got stuck! After about an hour a kindly local with a Ford Fortuner stopped and offered us a tow back to...More

Hi Kaapie We are really sorry you got stuck! We try to discourage people going to the Mill unattended, and have a "guide of the day" system . They will accompany you and also advise on the road!

Really enjoyed the visit to the mill. Incredible that it still functions. Very informative guide. A bit of a wait to get access - the curator must be phoned to come and unlock the access gates (this is well sign-posted). Well worth a visit, especially...More

Thank you for your kind review Andrew, A group of volunteers have formed a Non Profit trust to look after the Mill and all the "unmanned" national monuments around Bathurst. The Mill is our first project. We really do appreciate the support.
