For an international company...
Jul 2021 • Couples
Visit only available in German. For an international company, it's unbelievable and unacceptable. Not even a small flyer in English or French. (We are only at 20 km of the three borders...).

Great samples after the tour

This was interesting the history of the beer. Not an active factory and really just pictures with history. Great samples after the tour.

Informative and fun tasting!
Jul 2019 • Family
Really enjoyed this tour. Called in the morning as think only one tour in English at 13.00,lovely staff on phone, excellent English and helpfully booked us on. Enjoyed tour with Monica learned a lot about all the raw ingredients, chemistry, processes and business. Good mix of visual and spoken information. Only wish we coukd have touched hops and malt. Relaxed afterterwards in on site bar with a complimentary warm pretzel and two small beers. If you stay locally you could use other vouchers in Bitburg partner restaurants nearby for another 3 drinks. Unfortunately we were driving. Few nice options for kids to try non alcoholic drinks and our 13yr old son enjoyed the hour tour, a miracle in itself! Really recommend and good value 20 euros for us 3.

Good tour, helpful guide, good beer

We are English speaking visitors in this region for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed this tour.

Easy to book the English speaking tour option - thank you to the helpful lady who assisted us via the phone to make our booking

Good fun, informative one hour long tour that includes two drinks per person (including non-alcoholic if you wish)

Happy to recommed

Good brewery tour
Aug 2018 • Family
I was very excited to be staying near to Bitburg as I enjoy drinking bitburger and the tour/experience didn't dissapoint.
Did the tour with my eldest who was 12 and she enjoyed it as well.
There is only one tour per day in English, so its well worth ringing in advance. We turned up and missed that day's tour by 20 minutes. The lady on the front desk was very helpful and offered either a German language tour or a self guided one between tours, but all the material inside is in German only, no English cards available, so we booked onto another days English tour instead.
Full paying adults get five drinks vouchers to use, two in the brewery bar itself, three for use in selected bars in Bitburg, cue an impromtu pub crawl as I spent my three vouchers. A very nice way to spend the afternoon.
There is also child friendly drinks included in the tour (two types of lemonade and a drink called Kandi Malz).
There is also a voucher for use in the brewery gift shop.
I would NOT take young children there. My child at 12 was borderline, but she enjoyed the science of brewing part of the tour, but children younger would not get anything out of it and possibly ruin it for others.

Great choice!

I really recommend you to take a tour, here you will understand how the beer is made but also an idea of the history of this brand which is quite fascinating.

Enjoy the surprise at the end of the tour!

Very well presented brewery tour
Jul 2018 • Family
This is a beautifully presented tour of the Bitburger brewing process. It appeals to the five senses and has been designed with the five senses in mind. Our guide was informative, friendly and helpful. Admission is free for children under 12 and adults pay €9.50. This includes a drink and fresh pretzel in the lounge bar at the end of the tour. We thought it was excellent value. Our children were treated to a soft drink and a pretzel as well. The tours are in German so do check if the guide will include explanations in English. On our visit, the guide did add some explanations in English but did not translate all of her content. I understood the German tour and displayed information (also in German only) and know that I therefore got more from the tour than the rest of my family.

Skip if you're visiting in winter
Feb 2018 • Solo
After reading the amazing reviews, I was excited to stop by for a tasting and a tour. I visited in late February and in the off-season the place is absolutely DEAD. The bar was closed and there is only one tour per day (at 1pm, in German). The only thing open is the gift shop. I'm sure it's lovely in the summer - just balance your expectations if you visit in the winter.

We speak not so good german, but the tour was understandeble for us. This is NOT a tour in the brewery, but a tour which tells you in a modern way how beer is made. After the tour, there is the possibility to taste different kinds of bitburger beers.

Educational and thorough history of Bitburg beer
Apr 2017 • Couples
Impressed by how well done the overall tour is, very thorough regarding the ingredients and production process. The lounge at the end of the tour is spectacular, our tour group was only 9 people so plenty of space, I was told tour groups can be up to 30 people at once. We had to call ahead to schedule a tour in english, but they were accommodating and it lasted about 50 minutes - would probably take longer if more questions were asked. This would not be appropriate for children - they would be quickly bored and then would probably distract from the experience for others. At the end of the tour in the lounge we were able to sample many of the different beers, the classic bitburg was great on a sunny day and the 0% alcohol grapefruit drink was the unanimous choice for product we wish we could get in America.
