About
Welcome to Treasure Cay (TC) Boat Rental located in the harbor in the Treasure Cay Marina in Treasure Cay, Abaco, The Bahamas. We have the nicest boat rental fleet in the Abacos! We rent center console boats ranging from 20 foot to 32 foot. All Boats are equipped with GPS for location, and vhf radios. Many are outfitted with fishfinders, depth sounders and stereos. Your rental price is determined by the boat selected and the number of days of the rental. All boats start off full of fuel and are returned full, so you are paying only for the fuel you used during your time on the water. We highly recommend and can provide knowledgeable local guides who can take you bonefishing, deep sea fishing, snorkeling, shelling, island hopping and to all of the local restaurants and bars on the out islands, allowing you to relax and fully enjoy the day. You are fully insured against any damage IF you use one of our local guides.

We enjoyed a 27-foot boat rental for three days. It suited our 8-person party perfectly as we island-hopped in the Sea of Abaco. The boat ran well, and the young man (Wilson) of the rental company was knowledgeable and helpful.

We chartered a boat with a captain from Treasure Cay Boat Rentals last week. Had the best time!!! Wilson was beyond accommodating and helpful. Our captain Stumpy was amazing! He was knowledgeable and navigated the boat beautifully (even in some tough waves). Not to mention that he provided us with every experience we requested. Was the highlight of our trip to Treasure! Would highly recommend this company.

We rented a boat to do a little island hopping. We are experienced boaters and the sea of Abaco was choppy! We faired pretty well and got to visit Nippers the boat was well maintained. We had to get gas around the corner and that was a mess cause their pumps were jacked up- so my only feedback would be please send out boats with full gas and don’t have customers do it. Esp when the gas station attendant was not helpful at all. Thanks for an amazing day and experience.

Upon return of our boat rental we were told that we were going to have to pay an extra $3500 for damage to the skeg of the lower unit of the boat motor. A small piece the size of a quarter was missing from the skeg upon inspection. They told us they would have to replace the lower unit because of this small amt of damage. The motor ran perfectly the whole time we had it. The repair would not be more than $100 tops, so as far as we know they probably pocketed the rest of the money. Their boat was filthy, both trim tabs were missing when we got it. They ripped us off plain and simple. I’m fairly sure they will not fix it and the next renter will most likely be charged as well. We will never rent from this vendor ever again and will make sure all of our fishing friends know what a rip off this place is. Renters beware or you will suffer the same fate. This event ruined what was a fun fishing trip despite really bad weather and rough seas.

Hello Brian, I am very sorry for your experience, but you are not being fair or honest in your review. I am assuming that may be because of a typo and that you don't fully comprehend the significance of hitting the lower unit. You did not pay $3,500 you paid $2,500. Further, when you checked in for your rental you commented on the fact that your boat had a brand new motor. Just slightly over the initial 10 hour break in time. It left the dock in perfect condition. It did not return in a similar condition. It returned damaged with a voided warranty...on a brand new motor. You had the boat for the week and denied hitting anything. The damage to the lower unit happened when you hit something hard. Not sure whether it was reef, rock or what, but it damaged our otherwise brand new motor. To say $100 would fix the $7,500 part is not accurate or fair. We had a brand new motor under warranty with 50 weeks remaining on the warranty when you left. When you returned the boat a week later, you gave us a damaged motor with a voided warranty on the lower unit. At the very minimum the boat needs to be pulled out of the water, out of the rental fleet to have the lower unit removed and inspected, a part ordered and repaired. It could be much worse, but we will not be able to tell until it is in dry dock and the lower unit is removed. In any event, we have no warranty on the lower unit which is a loss for us. Wilson has been running this boat rental operation with stellar reviews for the past 10-12 years spanning 5 owners. While we are only in our second year of operation, you can see that our reviews are all very good. The ONLY other bad review was from a guest that booked a bonefishing trip with Joe Pritchard on the side instead of booking with us and Joe didn't take them out. We never knew about the trip yet received the bad review. Despite your comments, we are very proud of our fleet of boats. All boats have been upgraded with GPS, fishfinders, new motors, new cushions and stereos. Our one 3 star review was because we removed the outriggers from the boats and there is no live bait in Treasure Cay. The Boats go out clean every day and return with happy renters every day as you and everyone can see from the reviews. You are just not being fair or accurate. I am very sorry your trip ended on a bad note...it did for us as well. Sincerely, Doug B.

We rented fro TCBR for 3 days during the week. Took the 26 foot with the 250 hp engine. All was fantastic. The boat handled beautifully, the GPS was helpful, and we loved the bluetooth music.
Wilson recommended places to go snorkeling, lounging, and bonefishing. All were great recommendations!
We also bought lobster for dinner.
I wish all boat rental outfits were as professional.
Thanks!

Doesn’t get much better than exploring the Abaco’s with a fly rod, a mask, snorkel and a spear! Sounds like you had a great trip and really learned what the Abaco’s are all about...the water! So glad Wilson and the guys were so helpful. Hope to see you again soon. Cheers! Doug B.

We had a great time boating on the Sea of Abaco and Treasure Cay Boat Rentals made it even better. The dockhands are very friendly, helpful and willing to help. We rented the 27 foot Rambo – 2 stroke. My wife and I are on a Christmas family vacation with our 5 teen-college aged daughters. We wanted to go island hoping at on our own time frame, so with the discount you get for renting consecutive nights, we felt it was a deal. We rented for 9 days. The boat was always ready to go and we would ask advice from the dockhands if our choice of islands was right for the wind and weather. The boat worked perfectly. It is not a brand new boat, but they had newer ones. It has a great blue tooth stereo and a solid Garmin GPS. I would highly recommend the Steve Dodge Guidebook and study it before you go to get the most of your days in the Abacos. The Sea of Abaco is beautiful and so are the other islands. Each day was an adventure our child will not forget. We saw the pigs on No Name Cay, hung out at Treasure Cay Beach, lunched at Green Turtle Cay, went to Nippers and Grabbers on Great Guana Cay. Spent a day at Elbow Cay and the Abaco Inn. Went to Marsh Harbour for lunch at Blue Hole and generally found beaches, snorkeled and boated. One regret, we didn’t make it down to Tahiti Beach. Thanks to Wilson and the staff for a great experience.

Ken, So glad you enjoyed your time with us. You saw the Abacos the way it is meant to be seen! Great itinerary! Head which way the wind doesn’t fight you. Reading this got my heart pumping as you did everything we love to do on the water in Treasure Cay and the surrounding Cays! Based on our kids experiences, this is a trip that won’t be forgotten! Hope to see you again soon...Tahiti Beach will be here for your next trip! ;-). Cheers!

Wilson, Russell and the team did such a great job taking care of us. They were able to get us a boat at the last minute and we were able to spend Christmas Day at No Name Cay with the pigs. They helped me to navigate the beautiful waters of the Abaco Sea and get home safetly. The equipment was excellent and it could not have been a better experience. We will be back!

RESERVATION: I was vacationing solo. I reserved a boat and a cptn for a full day excursion (9am-5pm) about a month in advance. I did this by exchanging emails with Wilson through the company. I tried re-confirming the reservation via email a week beforehand, but I never heard back from the company. On the day I arrived, I asked the front desk staff at the Treasure Cay Marina Resort where I could find Wilson. With their assistance, I found him at the Marina, and confirmed our date, times, and prices.

PREPARATION: Because I had reserved this boat all for myself and had done my research, I came prepared with food for the sharks, turtles, stingrays, and pigs. I had purchased pre-sliced honey-dew melon at Maxwell's back in Marsh Harbour the day I arrived so that I'd have something to feed the pigs. I purchased frozen squid in the Treasure Cay grocery store the morning of my boat trip. I recommend purchasing 2lbs of squid per person and to ask the cptn to chop it up in small bits to make the feeding experience last longer. I packed my own cooler with my drinks & ice and my own dry-bag for my towel, dry-clothes, snacks, and other items. Definitely bring a sweater or a jacket to wear in case you get chilly during the boat ride. I had even brought a light rain jacket just in case. The boat was bare with minimal seating and zero shelter - which was fine because it didn't rain. Be sure to bring something to buy the gas with at the end of the trip - American Express is not accepted - I used my Visa. Be sure to bring the fee for the cptn in cash. You must pay the cptn in cash separately - it is not a part of the boat-rental charge through Treasure Cay Boat Rentals. You will pay him at the end of the trip.

THE EXCURSION: Because this was my reservation, I had full control over the itinerary. Upon my request, Alton, my cptn, first took me to feed the sharks, turtles, and stingrays at Nunjack Cay. He de-thawed my frozen squid for me and chopped it all up for me. He was kind and took pics & videos of me feeding the marine life. I had full control to ask to stay longer at this location to enjoy the amazing beach that's there - Heaven. When we stopped to feed the pigs at another location, he warned me against stepping on sea anemones. Our last stop of the day was Nippers at Great Guana Cay. He walked me there from the boat and introduced me to some of the employees which was awesome because our food & drink service was faster, and everyone was very nice. He let me relax and just do what I wanted to the entire trip.

THE VIBE: Although it was a little awkward for me since I was a woman traveling alone - on the ocean - with a man I didn't know, Alton did his best to make me feel at-ease and to show me a good time. I am very grateful to him for the overall experience.

Taylor, Well done on the research and planning! Sounds like you planned well and were able to experience some of what makes the Bahamas and in particular the Abacos so special. You had a gem of a guide in Alton! So glad you enjoyed your day with him. We will work on the communications portion of your review to hopefully earn a 5 star on your return...which we hope is soon! ;-) Cheers,

We rented for 3 days and were able to island hop the entire time. We stayed right at the resort and kept the boat right behind the unit which was very convenient. We would definitely rent from here again

Couldn't have been better. Wilson took care of beyond expectations. We had a 27ft for two weeks, and the boat was in great shape. Very much surprised about the fuel economy. Thank you.
