Iwakuni's hidden gem in the fall
Nov 2019
This was truly a hidden marvel in Iwakuni which blossoms to life (pardon the irony) during the fall season, giving rise to a resplendent party of yellow, orange and red. I truly enjoyed this spot! The park itself isn’t that big (compared to Kikko Park), but the colours just captivate you, and there are plenty of pavilions around for you to rest in and take in the beautiful sight. It’s also wonderful that it’s not crowded at all! Admission is free. Autumn colours are probably best seen in mid-November? I visited around late November, which is said to be past its peak season, but even so, it was still quite colourful and stunningly pretty.

Don’t miss this little area when visiting the Kintai Bridge!
It is pretty during other times of the year too, but my favorite time to go is in the fall.

Valley of Red Leaves - Bring Your Camera
Nov 2016 • Family
I visited this place to take picture of my wife in red and yellow leaves. It was stunning. Many people realized how beautiful this place was, so you see tons of people on weekends. Show up early, because many Japanese do not wake up until 0830 on the weekend.

This is not an attraction park. If you are looking for something to do, you will not see that much, unless you are planning to hike to the castle. If you just want to see red and yellow leaves, this is it!!!

OK, my kids did not so well here. It can be boring to small children. It's free besides parking.

This gem of a park is close to the Iwakuni Castle and shouldn't be missed. In early spring it was green and gorgeous, lovely and tranquil.

Beautiful in the fall

Beautiful in the fall when the leaves are out. They also serve ot udon and ramen there during momiji season. Not wheelchair accessible though; there are some stone steps to deal with.

If you are in the area Kintaikyo Bridge, you can visit this beautiful garden, especially with leaves coloration typical in Japan. Beautiful! That brief word to represent this place.

Beautiful scenery
Nov 2014 • Solo
I love this little park any time of the year. It's a beautiful area to just walk around and enjoy the trees and the little area with the spectacular green moss all over.
This park is especially gorgeous in the fall as they have many maple trees.
Definitely a must see if visiting the Kintai area!!

Beautiful
Nov 2014 • Family
This park is at the base of the paved path up to Iwakuni Castle and is a peaceful, beautiful place to just walk around. It is also great for pictures. You can spend as little as 5 minutes walking through or you can probably sit and have a picnic for as long as you like.
