Great place - highly recommended. You don't need to pay for park entrance to see the tree in all its glory; you can see it from the plaza and the whole area. Great views, good atmosphere, and lovely food places all around. Worth a visit!

Expected to see the dragon tree (it's not a tree, it's a plant) but there was so much more than this.
Lots of walkway, up, down, great views and a lava tube cave to walk in. (Be careful it is very dimly lit and there is a bit if water in the middle, whilst it's not deep, you might step in it) Banana trees and seating area for picnics.
Some if the steps are uneven, high and occasionally without handrail, so wits needed for less abled.
Must have had a good hour+ in here.
It is right next to the butterfly place, mariposaria del drago.
There is on street parking, but as with a lot of the island in popular areas, you are lucky to find a space. But there is a big covered car park nearby.

I don't know why people are only obsessed with the tree because this entire town is super cute and beautiful. I recommend parking a car in nearby parking house and just walk around in the area. We found super great local chinese store because of randomly walking into that store. Streets are full of restaurants and definitely tree is gorgeous in the middle of it all.

The problem we had with this attraction is that the main entrance is accessed by going up a steep road and then walking down a steep slope. My wife has a problem walking down slopes, so this was difficult. What we did not know is that there is an access further down the hill, through a shop.
You can see the tree from the road. On a previous visit you could walk around it - there was some sort of myth attached to this-- but you cannot now. The park itself is pretty, but again steep in places. The entrance fee is good value.

At 5€ a head this was a lovely couple of hours of wandering through this lovely garden.
Particularly liked the medicinal garden. The dragon tree is certainly remarkable, but don’t miss the rest.
Lots of multilingual information available.
Buzzy little cafe. We had cappuccinos which unfortunately weren’t particularly hot.
Definitely worth a visit.

This was a fun trip. Yes you can see it without entering the park as others have noted but it was worth the money to get up close. It wasn’t too overwhelming of an activity but we got a nice walk. You get great selfies. The info along the way was helpful and taught us a few things. There were some helpful staff at the entrance and no tacky gift store like in most places. Don’t miss the butterfly exhibit across the street. This should be ranked much higher than the commercial centers I’ve seen on here.

Saw the El Drago Milenario in Icod de los Vinos. The islands oldest trees which looks like a piece of broccoli. The town is lovely as well. Great little park for the children to play in

We didn’t pay to view it at close quarters having already done so on previous occasions, but you get a fabulous view of it (with photographic opportunities) from the upper plaza across the road. However, we did go and sit in the enchanting adjoining cafe gardens,(at the entrance) and had a lovely cuppa alongside delicious home-made cake, whilst taking in the atmosphere and view from there.Little wonder that this fabulous fantastic-looking tree is an iconic symbol within Tenerife.

If you’re passing through and want to kill some time, it’s worthwhile to see El Drago. Otherwise, it’s passable. At the end of the day, it’s a tree and nothing really spectacular about it or it’s surroundings.

All the area is beautiful.
A lot of tourist all a round.
some stands sailing souvenirs.
just a cross the street Calle Arcipreste Ossuna,, there is the tree museum.
also there there is the restaurant La Casa del Drago, from it you can see the tree more closer and you can take a walk around him, it cost 3 Eur.
also across to the street to west side the is butterfly park
Also the city very nice, very recommended to go a round

Hay visitas guiadas gratuitas que duran como una hora, luego necesitaras media hora o una hora para acabar de verlo todo. Pero claro depende de lo que te quieras entretener haciendo fotos y mirando plantas.
