We often go to Brittany on the ferry from Plymouth. We found this little coastal community one day when we were using the northern route back from Morlaix to Ste Paul-de-Leon and on to Roscoff. There are apparently seven beaches of which Plage do Kelenn is probably the biggest and is our favourite. We have usually driven down to the beach out of the high season and it has often been almost deserted save for a few cars an occasional dinghy and two or three of the half dozen or so beach side cafes open for drinks and good snacks or meals. Although surrounded by prosperous detached houses all in the late twentieth century faux regional style, there is an entirely easy going relaxed feel. The view across the approaches to the Morlaix estuary and some old fortifications and islands make this a very pleasant place to while away a few hours. The beach is soft golden fine sand and there is plenty of room to play and safe water for swimming.

great beach to start from, sea kayaks can be hired really cheaply and safely to try ( harder than it looks to stay straight!), or sit and enjoy the views. if you walk along the coast path just 5 -1o mins around the headland is an even better sandy beach that was deserted when we went, even though it was high season and a hot sunny day.

Lovely area and kept very clean. Free parking next to beach and shops and restaurants offered a great range.

lovely beach here.
there is a sailing school which looked excellent. You can book it for during the school holidays and I think they speak a little english but if your children dont speak some french I guess they may feel left out.
book in advance if you plan to do this, but if you are French, it looked absolutely lovely.
there are beach huts - you can hire via the tourist information.
there are also three restaurants/cafes behind the beach looking over it. - pizza crepes etc and prob seafood

Lovely walk down to the beach, although may be too much for some to manage the walk back up the hill. The day we visited was a beautiful, sunny September day and the views were lovely. The beach had few visitors, probably gets packed in the summer!

We were staying local and had a beach day planned into our holiday itinerary. We were there off season so it was very quite, more space for us to explore.
The beach is a fantastic mixture of soft sand, which changes into small bead like pebbles as the tide goes out. What is exposed when the tide goes out made for such an adventure for our 2 year old daughter. We made sandcastles, went rock-pooling and shell collecting.
There is free car parking on the seafront, public toilets, beach showers, and a play area for little ones if they get bored of the beach. There are little islands that you can walk to and explore when the tide is out also.
There are also several eateries on the beach front (the one we went to reviewed separately), so you can really spend some time there. If you are local, it is definitely worth a visit.

Short drive from our campsite, very clean beach. There’s a large car park. The children enjoyed searching for shells.

We are staying in a beach house overlooking the bay.
The tide is phenomenal - the difference between low and high tide is unreal.
The beach is sandy with a large array of shells.
Off the sand there is a park, playing field and some restaurants.
