Hopi Hari is about half an hour away from the city of Campinas. By taxi you need to pay 80-90 reals, there also is a hopi bus leaving from the city in the morning to the park. If you speak portuguese you can read the details from their web site www.hopihari.com.br If you go there by taxi make sure you arrange the return as well cause there are no taxies or no other ways of transportation back to the city, only you need to wait for the hopi bus leaving half an hour after park closure. We went there on thursday and we had average crowd. In the park you cannot find anybody speaking english so you need to practice your portuguese skills. It is really tough to communicate in English in Brazil in general. Rides are ok, in some popular rides there's a long queue, but if you do not want to wait, you pay 15 reals per ride extra or 36 reals extra for 8 rides to buy a Hopi Pass then you do not wait. There's another entrance for hopipass owners. Be careful not to buy pass for all 8 because only Montezum has a long queue to wait. There also is a part called Wild West, if you want to take the rides there especially Rio Grande you need to bring spare t-shirt and shorts cause you get really wet. We needed to buy shorts and t-shirts as we were not prepared. In overall average place to spend your day if not too crowded, my son loved it. Two advices : Be careful about the transportation and be ready for some portuguese.

Hopi Hari is probably the most famous theme park in Brazil. It was a big hit 15 years ago and I have visited it a couple of times as a teenager. Some weeks ago I got a pair of tickets for free and went there last saturday. It's not too far from São Paulo, but you get your first goosebumps with the parking fee: R$ 40,00 for parking under the sun. At the entrance, there was a big sing with a list of all rides that were out of order/under maintenance. There were about 15 of them, including all rides that turn upside down (i.e. the looping rollercoaster), which was a big disappointment. Once inside, we have noticed that the park was kind of empty and has seen better days. It is a little decadent, probably due to the fatal accident happened a couple of years ago. I must say though that everything looks preety well kept and with fresh paiting, which is a little sad due to the low visitor's rate.
If you are looking for food, you better prepare your pocket, since you won't spend less then R$ 25,00 for a hamburger meal and apart from pasta, this is preety much all that you can find there. And besides the many ice cream kiosks there was no ice cream for sale in the whole park (and it was a VERY hot summer day). We were informed that the contract with the ice cream supplyer was suspended.
Overall, we did have fun, but it was much better 10 years ago.

Hopi Hari was supposed to be one of the best Amusement parks of Brasil. Last time I went there, I found out they needed more maintenance in many areas, specially cleanliness. The food is expensive and average fast food. If you compare to others parks of Brasil it's okay. If you compare to Parks is Orlando you are going for an disappointment.

The worst experience at a theme park ever. I went in early January which I would assume is the most hectic period of the year, atleast i hope. Getting to the themepark is chaotic, already we are off to a bad start. The park has plenty of rides, but most of them for kids, only two thrillseeking rollercoasters, and they are old and not very impressive. But this is not the reason this park is so bad. The rides are perfectly fine, for a small park. BUT. The lines in this park are AWFUL and the same goes for the efficiency and operations. Every ride, and I mean every ride had between 1 hour to 2.30 hours waiting time. I mean, I could possibly wait 2 hours for one of the best rides in the world, but waiting 2 hours for a simple, old and not very impressive 10 second rollercoaster is not acceptable. And the rides would break down every 10 minutes as well - prolonging the wait. The service is not great, the food is expensive and BAD, the staff are slow all over the park. Basically this is a park where you pay to stand in a line for 7 hours. We went there and was able to get on 4 rides, and that was it.

I understand other times of the year the situation might be different, but this doesnt excuse the horrible operations, bad food and slow staff.

This is a park YOU HAVE TO buy VIP tickets, but eeven then you will be standing in long lines.

As an icing on the cake, after waiting in line all day at the park, when we tried to leave from the parkinglot another chaos ensued and we spent another 1 hour fighting with other cars just trying to get out. No coordination. It really felt like after you had paid the ticket and entered the park, they didnt care about you at all anymore.

I have been to a lot of themeparks, but far from all of them, but still I feel confident saying: This is the worst themepark in the world. Because its not possible for a park to be worse than this.

Arrived at Hopi Hari 12:00 20 April 2008 under a little drizzle.
Car park R$20 reais for day. (most expensive car park in Sao Paulo).
Hopi Hari without a doubt was the worst experience I have undergone in the area of amusement ever. Firstly they promote a deal where instead of paying 50 reais for the day pass you pay 29.90. So everyone in the state of Sao Paulo goes. There must have been 200 busese in the parking area, They don´t have the sense to close the doors after a certain number of people get in. I would say that there must have been 60,000 people there yesterday. The queue to a ride is at least 1 hour long, that being the tame rides, I managed to go on 2 rides in the 6 hours I was there. Also the lines to food were also 1 hour long. Even popcorn was with a line. We decided that we would leave the park to go to mac donalds for lunch. There was a fight to get out. They want to maintain us in the park to waste more money on our stomachs. In the end I was thankful to leave the place. The next amusement park I go to will not be that one... it doesn´t have the infrustructure to run well and the one day pass is a rip off. If I had to pay each ride I would prefer it, I asked many kids during the day what they thought. Most were hungry and fed up.
Looking at the park I noticed that there were many rides broken, Feris Wheel, Viking Boat, small roller coaster, to name a few, I think the problem in Brazil is that there are too few parks fro kids so they take whatever is available. Therefore only having one means that they can charge whatever they want and offer little fun,

Expenses - Sao Paulo - Hopi Hari
Toll R10,60 return
Day Pass - 3 rides max R$29,90
Food $15
Car Park: R$20

If you go to São Paulo, can't forget to visit hopi hari, one of the biggest playgrounds in Brazil. There you can find lots of incredible roller coasters, and many things to have fun just like the elevator. The restaurants inside the park are pretty good and have many varieties of food. The park is divided by adrenaline, kids, and haunted houses so you don't have to worry about searching the entire playground for something specific. If you are looking for adrenaline and fun with your entire family, you are invited to join this incredible adventure.

This Park is no longer the same it used to be. Gigantic lines, a lot of rides closed, and I mean it, like 50% of all attractions are closed, including the elevator and roller-coaster, restaurants, etc. The park is dirty with bad administration. I'm really sad to see what it has become.

By the time it was opened, it was a great amusement park. I loved going there and spend some time with friends.
But now it has become a rip-off.
You can't enjoy all its attractions, and it's not because the park has a lot. It's because the park is so crowded that you spend half of your visit in the line of a single attraction.
I don't believe it's worthy anymore!!!

The theme park is huge but believe me, there are no nice attractions: three or four if you want to count; the other ones are terrible and pretty common, nothing wow -- for the price you pay, you'd expect something outstanding.
The food is abusively high and it doesn't even taste good. The lack of training from the staff is noticeable: everybody with that face: what time do I go home?
Save some more money and go to a real theme park abroad.

The queues are too long. They don't let you enter with food, but there are just one restaurant and one snack bar, wich serve terrible food. The parking is very expensive and beneath the sun. The bathromm are dirty, very dirty all the time. So, if you can go to another park, you must go. The worst park I've been in my entire life.
