Fantastic trip and adventure, stunning scenery and roads make for a bonding between rider and machine unparalleled. No your not laying on the beach tanning but you are partaking in the unforgettable experience that is uniquely the Dominican Republic. Robert and Alida take care of you from the moment yes literally from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Of course you want to stay but yes reality beckons us all. I'll be going back again.

What better way to spend a week before the real winter sets in to the northeast USA. A few riding friends chose to head south and discover the REAL Dominican Republic with the folks from MotoCaribe. We decided on the 8-day South West tour which would bring us from Jarabacoa, over the mountains and down to the coastal southwest and desert. Riding well-maintained Suzuki V-Strom 650s, which were the perfect size for this kind of riding, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the ride. The food was great and diverse, the lodgings were comfortable and eclectic and Robert and Alida, the principals of MotoCaribe, could not have been more friendly and accommodating - wonderful hosts and guides.
If you have visited the DR only to be sequestered in an 'all-inclusive' resort, then you have not experienced the REAL DR. If you are a motorcyclist and a true traveler, you owe it to yourself to spend a week with these friendly folks and let them show you their Caribbean island.

We took MotoCaribe's North Coast Tour in November 2016 and it turned out better than we had imagined. We were looking for a more active vacation than just lounging around all day at the beach or hotel and came across this tour. Having not been to the D.R. before we weren't sure what to expect as far as roads, hotels, food, etc. but again, we were not disappointed. All of your hotels, food, snacks, gas and transportation to/from the airport are arranged by Robert (owner) and his wife who travel along with you. The bikes (Vstrom 650's) were in great shape and fun to ride. The traffic in the cities gets a little bit of getting used to but once you do, it's half the fun! Really though, most of the riding is done out in the countryside or along the coastal beach roads. Having wanted to dip my toes into the motorcycle adventure touring style vacation, this was just the ticket. I seriously could not find one fault in this tour. Feel free to check out the video I made and posted to youtube under the same user name I have here.

Flew into DR and MotoCaribe took care of absolutely everything from picking me up at airport to dropping me off.
Made me feel super comfortable and I could of made it through whole trip without any money ,(except for nick knacks and a little gambling ) !
Highly Recommended . Can't wait to go again !!

I have been on many moto tours around the world with several different tour companies including Eidelweiss (alps, Andalusia, Croatia), Admo (alps), Rent a Tiger (northern Spain), and of course Motocaribe (NW Dominican tour & the SW Dominican tour), and all were great. The biggest difference was this, Motocaribe was the only truly all inclusive one (motorcycle, food, gas, transfers, lodging), and it was far less expensive than the others. Robert & Alida go out of their way to deliver an amazing, beautiful, fun, adventurous motorcycle tour with a personal touch that is rarely matched. I call it the best deal in moto touring. If you love travel & you love motorcycling, then go.

We did our first trip in 2009 and had so much fun that we filled a tour with all our friends in 2011! Great roads, fantastic food, amazing coffee and an all around wonderful time!

Did a guided motorcycle tour here and the experience was great! Robert and his wife are such warm and nice people! Everything is taken care of, I just had to bring my gear. The bikes worked very well, the sights, sounds and smells were intoxicating. and the food... to die for! Fantastic roads and little traffic outside of towns. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Robert and Alida are great hosts, Our February 2012 was a special adventure: We lucked out with only my 2 friends and I on this 10 day trip. Everything was included, meals, gas; all we needed was our riding gear. The roads were great, dodging obstacles an adventure, great company ! My only regret was not buying more coffee from Alida's father's plantation ! Highly recommended. Just do it !

I did the North Coast Carnival tour after reading about Moto Caribe in Cycle World. It was easy to book online, and Robert and Alida were friendly and helpful when I booked it. They sent me a detailed presentation about what to expect, what to bring, etc. and the price was right.
Robert picked me up in Santo Domingo and customs were much easier to get through than in most countries. I ended up riding with a group of experienced riders and made some good friends. The food is fantastic, the riding is top-notch, and Robert and Alida treated me like a family member. They took us to Alida's family coffee plantation and on our last night together, we had pizza and beer with Robert's mother, which was a treat.
The DR is safe and beautiful. We rode nearly 700 miles over eight days and had plenty of time to relax. It was a good balance between riding and relaxing. I went during Carnival and that is a must-see experience.
I feel like this trip made me a better rider. There's not much traffic enforcement in the DR, but there's actually a method to the driving madness. There are so many motorcyclists in the DR, that cagers actually see bikers and share the road with them. The V Stroms are well-maintained and fantastic machines.
I had a phenomenal time with Moto Caribe and plan on returning for another ride with my wife this time. It's really a special experience.

I've been twice. The first time was for Carnaval in February, 2016. I returned a second time for the same tour, the North Coast Tour, in November, 2016 and it quickly became a very different adventure. So even the same tour is a different experience. I plan to return at least one other time for the SW Tour with my wife.
Why? I like to ride. I like group rides. I like to ride different bikes (although I bought a V-Strom after the first tour). I like to travel. I like to tour.
These tours have it all.
I have done organized group motorcycle tours of Costa Rica, Spain and Colorado in the past, in addition to many solo bike trips. I have never repeated a tour or location before this.
I can now add: I like the Dominican Republic. And I especially like what Robert and Álida have built with MotoCaribe Motorcycle Adventure Tours!
