Today we flew with Golden Bay Air from Karamea back to Takaka after hiking the Heaphy. What a highlight! They looked after us from start to finish and made this experience seemless. We couldn't have asked for a more professional and informative pilot, Edward really made sure we had a good time with a smoother than smooth landing. Great value for money will be recommending to all friends who want to tackle the Heaphy! Thank you guys. Nat and Mel.

We used Golden Bay air to travel to Karamea from Wellington via Takaka. Despite some nerves about travelling in a small plane, we really enjoyed the adventure and the fabulous views over the Marlborough Sounds and Heaphy Track.
The pilots were all great, and we particularly appreciated John's skills in ensuring our flight in rough conditions was still comfortable and enjoyable.
Also really appreciated the friendly and personalised booking service. Great airline.

The full end to end experience was very friendly and accommodating. We had three flights and two shuttles booked for the Heaphy Walk and they kept us informed of weather and times etc all the way through.
When the weather turned against us, we had three options to choose from. The booking staff were great as was the pilot - plus he landed the plan very gracefully.

We walked the Heaphy Track with a team of six women from Great Barrier Island. We booked our transport with Golden Bay Air six months in advance. Various changes happened in the time before we eventually found ourselves on the track. The Golden Bay Air team was helpful and friendly. On our transport days we found our drivers to be super friendly and patient and great to chat to both ways from Nelson to Brown hut and back. We all felt that we can highly recommend using this professional business and want to thank Claire and her male colleague (sorry name :-)) for their excellent work.

The best! Professional, friendly, safe. I've been in the commercial aviation sector for over 25 years and felt that Golden Bay Air operated their service in a safe professional and friendly manner. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again or to recommend their service to family and whanau. Thank you Golden Bay Air.

I flew with Golden Bay Air from Takaka to Karamea on their backfill special to commence the Heaphy Track. It was touch and go with the weather but Claire kept me fully informed until our departure.
Despite my dislike for flying I was made to feel completely at ease and felt very much in expert hands with pilot Claire. She also gave excellent informative commentary along the way. It was an awesome experience. Highly recommend!

Got a flight back with Golden Air from Karamea after walking the Heaphy Track, to Takaka. John, our pilot must be the best pilot in NZ, coz we made it back safely inspite of him not knowing where the airstrip was or how to use the brakes. 🤣 Seriously, a great trip, great company... including their Shuttle Service, of which, the drivers were great charaters as well.

We used Golden Bay Air as a shuttle after completing the Abel Tasman Coastal Track. We left our car at the start of the trail and hiked in 5 days to end where we scheduled our pick up at Wainui car park for 12.30h. The car arrived well on time, Tyler was pleasant company and a good driver - car sickness avoided even on the windy roads. Only minor comment is that our tickets pretended to be plane tickets and suggested a 13.00h arrival time for what was 1.5 hour drive. Luckily Google Maps already told us as much, so it wasn't a surprise.

The Golden bay Air team made our Heaphy Track transport, simple to organise, fun, and with fantastic views on the flight back to Nelson. We were shuttled from Nelson to the start of the track with excellent commentary from Anne on the way. A short stop at an excellent cafe in Riwaka broke the journey. At the completion of the walk we were collected from the end of the track and shuttled to Karamea airport. The flight back to Nelson was spectacular and traversed the Kahurangi National Park and then across the Tasman region. The flight was smooth, and our pilot Tyler gave us an excellent description of where we were and what was below us. Every step of the trip was on time with the friendly Golden Bay Air team. The early afternoon return to Nelson was so much better than other transport options arriving much later in the day/evening. I highly recommend this service.

Fantastic service by Brenda, Richard and Riley. All obstacles sorted with very friendly service.
