Located at the western end of Chiavenna's long pedestrian alley with changing names the Bar Enoteca Grapperia Micheroli was my choice for a late evening drink, but for once not a wine or a grappa, but a beer. There was indoor seating, also a terrace above the river Mera, but I sat down at one of the few tables in the attractive cobblestoned alley itself.

From a friendly looking, but rather monosyllabic waiter I asked about 'Birra alla Spina' (draft beer). 'Si'. 'Anything local'? 'Yes'. 'Lager?' 'No, IPA'. 'Okay'. 'Medio?'. 'Yes'. The beer was served in a glass with the name 'Birrificio Valtellinese' on it. Checking about it I found out that it comes from a microbrewery from Berbenno di Valtellina, a small town to the west of Sondrio. Although not a great fan of Indian Pale Ale, this one was quite pleasant and original with a strong berry flavor.

The price for this medium draft beer was 6€ Euros, which surprised me, considering the fact that I paid much less for a Prosecco with plenty of antipasti everywhere here. Maybe it has to do with the fact that it was a 'Birra artigianale' from a microbrewery.

There is another entry at Tripadvisor for this place under restaurants with just the name 'Micheroli'. In fact some food like Hamburgers, Pulled Pork or Formaggio gets served here too.
