Potami Beach
About
An amazing pebble beach with a river running into the sea. Walk through the woodland path to swim in the waterfall. Then have lunch at Hippys a restaurant on the beach under the trees, great food, inexpensive in a beautiful atmosphere.

Beautiful crystal clear waters on this pebble beach but as with all Samos beaches, the water is a touch cool. It is very close to the Potami falls and even if you don't do the walk all the way to the falls, the first 30 minutes of the walk takes you past an old church along the walk path and some nice bushland by the river. Such a contrast to the beach yet so close. Parking appeared easy and it wasn't too busy in late September. There are a number of places very close to the beach to get food from (one not so great and another a bit further along which is much better).

Like the most beaches in Samos also Potami beach is so beautiful. You can walk there from Karlovasi and the access to the beach is very easy. You don´t need sport shoes, flip flops are ok. Very good bar 200 meters away with great frappe and snacks. Very close to Potami waterfalls. Recommended.

Did not care for this beach. The day we were there the entry to the sea was full of seaweed and mud-like sand that did not wash off at the shower. Needed to remove bathing suit (gross inside) to get semi-clean. Much better beaches in Samos.

Potami Beach is a good beach on the northcoast west of Karlovasi.
The accessibility is easy. There is a good road to a parking place close to the beach.
OBS: The beach is open to the sea, and that means, that there can be big waves, when tne wind comes from north.
Combine a visit with a visit to Potami Waterfalls.

Most beautiful beach I have seen in a long time.
Peaceful and lots of room, since the beach is not too crowded. Definately worth the trip!

Clean beach not that far from Karlovasi city. If you are planning to go here during the day take a ride because there is no shadow on the way.

Apparently, this is a very famous beach throughout the northern part of Samos island. And rightly so!
Albeit the fact that is commonly is not that calm (waves are still fun!), it's a very long beach that will accommodate even the most difficult of its visitors!
The entire beach is spotless, and I actually saw locals walking around in the swimming trunks and piking up rubbish that tourists had "forgotten" to throw away!
The stones on the beach are amazing where we actually took many with us so the kids could paint on them when back at home.
And best of all, "Hippy's beach-bar restaraunt" is on this very beach, which is an absolute must to visit for a coffee, beer, cocktail, and wonderful home cooked lunch!

We went to Potami beach later in the afternoon intent on seeing the sunset and it did not disappoint.
The beach is pebbly so swimming shoes are advised and the water is deep so it can be difficult if there are big waves like when we were there.
We lounged on the sunbeds at Hippies and waited for the spectacle of the sunset.
It was beautiful!
