This is a really lovely walk behind the wonderful village of Rothbury. You can walk a long way upstream from the village. Golf course is opposite on the other riverbank. Excellent stroll on a sunny winters day.

A beautiful village and it’s so easy to access the lovely riverside walk. Even if you don’t t walk much you can access the whole town behind the Main Street.

We found this walk after parking across the river and going across the footbridge back to town. It’s a really nice walk. Flat and accessible. Would also be good for a picnic with a play area.

Early summer walk down to the watermill and back, from the town bridge a little over 1.5 easy miles in total. Very pleasant indeed, young trout jumping in the river, a family of ducklings, water voles in the bank, Bluebells, lambs in the field beyond,...More

The pathway upsteam is recommended - peaceful, great views, and not too taxing. Well worth exploring.

This path is easy walking, offering well-made flat paths. There are walks both ways out of the village, about a mile in total. Lovely scenery with some items of interest
