The scenery on this railway is beautiful. We did a trip that involved the train one way and a coach the other. - which we would recommend. Although the train does slow down at various points for you to take photos, we had 3 stop off points to see at close hand ,waterfalls, mountain peaks, & the Trollvegggen -a perpendicular... More

The most beautiful railway I have traveled! I recommend this trip even if you're not going anywhere - just for the view!!!

Not many trains to choose from, and they do tend to be busy, but the journey is very rewarding. Great views on either side of the train (but perhaps more to the west, especially near Andalsnes and at Trollveggen) - have your camera ready...

Beautiful trip along the Rauma railway. We only travelled half way as on an organised trip, but the scenery was stunning.

This is a lovely scenic train journey and is a must for anyone to do and in my opinion even better than the Flam train. The Rauma Railway is 114 k long. The railway crosses the river Rauma, which is famous for it's salmon fishing. On the journey pass many beautiful views of mountains, trees, farm animals, bridges, lakes, buildings,... More

We started out in Oslo on the train and then took the Rauma Railway from Dombas to Andalsnes. We left Oslo abou 6 in the morning and arrived in Andalnes in time to eat a late lunch. Then we jumped back on the train for the return to Oslo. We were back about 8 pm. This was a really fun... More

The rail station is a mere 100 yards or so from the quayside. The Rauma Railway is 114 k long but we got off at Bjorli about half-way, and returned by bus. The railway is an engineering wonder crossing the river Rauma, internationally famous for it's salmon fishing, on amazing bridges. There is also an extraordinary tunnel which does a... More

the train station is literally outside the dock whee our cruise ship Magallen moored. Brilliant train journey up the mountain although visability was poor as it was blowing a blizzard but this lent an authemtic atmosphere to the experience. We then had a couch tour back down the mountain with informative commentary and a stop at the visitor information centre

We took the Raumabanen from Andalnes to Dombas, and I personally found it to be more scenic than the Flamsbana. We journeyed through mountains, forests, rivers and on bridges. While the Flamsbana also journeyed through similar terrain, we found the views on the Raumabanen less obstructed than on the Flamsbana, and therefore were able to take more lovely photos and...
