Whilst on holiday in the UK and visiting my homeland Wales we decided to take a day out and go over to the Island of Skomer. I have always wanted to see puffins in their natural habitat and the other sea birds of which there were large numbers of. The trip over on the boat was special and fun. Whilst... More

Visited as the bluebells had finished but still picturesque, surprised how close we could get to the Puffins, an amazing experience and would love to visit again, especially an overnight trip.

It's a special feeling being on a little boat in a wind (which wasn't a wind for their terms). Then walking around the island. We had two and a half hours, which is enough if you walk fast. If you want to have more time for exploring, you should take the 10 a.m. boat (there is one at 11 and... More

I highly recommend a visit here. The boat trip is about 15 mins and if you are lucky you might see seals on the way. Once on the island there are a number of paths. We did the circuit around the island which took 3hr with plenty of stops to enjoy the views and stop for snacks. At the time... More

Went here with my husband and our two young children. We had a fantastic time exploring the island and spotting the wildlife. Would love to go back. My children also both enjoyed the boat ride to and from the island. It's a lot of walking and is not pushchair friendly, young children would need to be carried or in a... More

You purchase your tickets at Lockley Lodge (the staff there are warm, welcoming and very helpful) then a short boat trip takes you to this wonderful island off the coast of Pembrokeshire. There is so much to see and do including the puffins, seals, manx shearwaters, rabbits and owls, dolphins, porpoise and many more. For some the animals are happy... More

Visited during the last week of July. We were advised to get there early as it is first come first served as far as getting a boat to cross. As it happened we arrived on a Wednesday 45 mins before the first boat was due to depart and we were amongst the first people there, but we may have just... More

We visited on a round island boat trip and must say it was brilliant. We didn't get off the boat but with five young children this was just fine with us. Lucky enough to see porpoise, sun fish, puffins and very excited to see seals. Well worth a visit but the island itself looked quite heavy going if like us... More
