We visited via the Dale boat trips which give you approx 5 hours on Skomer Island, which we thought would be too long, but which was about right. There were a few puffins just up from the landing site, then we walked round the island at our own pace, with beautiful views all the way along. Towards the end of... More

Yes I was very excited that we got to see puffins, and LOTS of them. Apparently there is a lot of other wildlife but I found myself mainly looking at the floor, the ground can be very uneven at times. There is not really any shelter there so remember your sun block or waterproofs. There is a little undercover picnic... More

We went here last week on a spur of the moment, we was only half prepared and didn't read the website properly. Your on the island for 5 hours. We already had plenty of water but had not packed any lunch, the store sells crisps and cake bars which was better than nothing. The island offers stunning views, enjoyable walking... More

So lucky that this was probably the best day of the year. Get to Lockley Lodge by 7.30-8.30 to get your tickets. Only 50 on each boat and 5 per day. You need to be fit and healthy to climb the steps and hill onto the island. So worth it..puffins galore, seal, moorland birds. Take a picnic as no catering,... More

A fantastic place to see puffins, and (if you stay overnight) Manx Shearwaters. Worth getting to Martin's Haven early, as the boats fill up fast. How good your trip will be is very dependant on the time of year (June is the best time to visit), the weather (if it's misty you won't see much), and the volunteers that are... More

Paradise. We saw Puffins ( which everywhere else in the world are going the way of the dodo), the super rare Manx shearwater, Razor Bills, Guillemots, Seals. I just feel so privileged to have got his close to nature. The organisation is superb. I cannot wait to return.

There is only 1 place to park which is a National Trust car park who charge a premium fee of £5 (free for members). At Lockley Lodge you need to book your place on the cruise well in advance but you actually pay (£12 cash) on the boat. You definitely need sturdy footwear to get to the jetty. There is... More

We arrived at the carpark at 5 minutes to midday. Everyone was so helpful we made it onto the 12.00 boat! Had a fantastic day and saw all the different birds we hoped to see including lots of really cute puffins!

We visited this Nature Reserve of an island in July 2016, a good time to see the puffins I was told. And boy it did not disappoint. There were thousands of them, it was an amazing sight. Teaming with a lot of other wildlife especially seabirds, binoculars would have been helpful (which you can rent at £5/pair when you arrive... More

National Trust car park is easy to find and is £5 for the day. You must buy your landing ticket (£10pp) at the Lockley Lodge and reserve your space on the boat (£11 payable on the boat) there are limited numbers but the Friday we arrived at 10.30 and there were still boat trips available and landing passes - Saturday...
