We sailed over on Easter Monday with a teenager who has taking a short and slightly grumpy break from her GCSE revision and we were surprised at how much there was to see on Caldey. Very enjoyable sea crossing. Interesting history. Short video was better than anticipated. Gorgeous beaches. Spotted seals fishing for breakfast in the sea behind the lighthouse.... More

Yesterday, I caught a boat (bargain £12 each return) onto the island with my partner an dog. When we arrived, the beach was beautiful as were the walks. We sat and just looked out back to Tenby for a good hour and then made our way to the village. We bought some soap and perfume before starting the walk to... More

Caldey provided a welcome break from a hectic Easter weekend at Tenby. The boats ran every half-hour, or even every 20 minutes, you can come back on any boat. There are a couple of cars on the island, but apart from that there is no traffic. A network of lanes and footpaths allow you to explore, it is possible to... More

The boats from Tenby to the island run regularly from April to October (you will need to check the island website for exact details) and the crossing takes 20 mins. We visited on the first day of the new season and, although many other people were also visiting that day, once on the island everyone dispersed and the island felt... More

Visited here on Saturday . We got the boat from Tenby for £12 and the service and friendliness of the crew was excellent . From the moment I stepped foot onto Caldey you can just feel how unique it is . It is so peaceful and everywhere has an amazing beauty and tranquil feel . The churches are beautiful places... More

Lovely place to go for a walk to see more beautiful countryside, the staff in the shops/cafe/ chocolate factory could not be more helpful and answered questions politely even though they have been asked those questions hundreds of times before "do you live on the island" etc ! I asked that question! Lovely boat trip good photo opportunities .

A calm crossing for October! But perfect for a quiet retreat .... we listened to two sung / chanted offices by the monks. A very simple and grounding experience. You can stay on the island if you wish for more than a day trip, but if doing so you would need to to take ALL provisions with you, there are... More
