Having been on the Ocean Explorer twice last year on our visit to Los Gigantes we were extremely keen to head out to sea again on this years visit to LG. It is stil, by some distance the best 15 Euros (per person) you will spend in LG. We went out with "Captain" Nicholas on the 11.30 trip one morning... More

What a fantastic trip this was - saw many whales with their babies, some of them swimming really close to the boat, sometimes swimming under! Take your cameras- you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic trips with Ocean Explorer! Just as reviews I'd read before visiting los gigantes, you had to book at the harbour and the trips were great. If it's the whales and dolphins you are interested in you don't need the boats with food and drink. We did 3 trips over 2 weeks and wasn't disappointed! Fantastic! Thanks to Andreas and... More

As everyone has said, great boat, max of 10 people and they found the Dolphins and there were between 10 and twenty. They were jumping and riding the wake of flipper uni and truly provided a spectacle. I have seen dolphins in the wild before, but never so many and never the jumping and surfing of adult and baby Dolphins... More

Thank you for your nice review -- I'm glad you enjoyed your trip with us. You mentioned not seeing the whales, so I spoke with the captain. He assured me that he's found the pilot whales on every whale watching trip this summer. We think you were probably on a 14:30 dolphin watching trip, not a whale watching trip (the... More

This trip is a must do! It is only €15 and it is worth your money. You go on a boat with other people. They guarantee that you will see whale fish. We have seen about 4-6 whales. Different from big to small. This trip is about 2 hours and again it is worth your money! Only one negative point:... More

Recently booked this through an agent. Agent openly admitted that he doesn't normally deal with this company but as we wanted to use them he would call up for us. Called with us in office and agreed a price with man answering the company phone. When we arrived the man on pontoon was clearly not happy with the price and... More

We are sorry you had a bad experience, but the problem was not with Ocean Explorer. One of your companions wrote a very similar review (see Corinna L's review) and I tried to explain what actually happened in my response to her. Your travel agent was not supposed to book your tickets and take your money. Our employee told your... More

We paid a good price with a reputable ticket agency (who we have used for all trips and so gained a good discount with him). We turned up and we're the only ones going out on the boat. I overheard the captain say (didn't think I would understand him!) that is wasn't viable with only four so either he wouldn't... More

We are very sorry you had a bad experience yesterday, but the problem was not with Ocean Explorer. We do not work with travel agencies because there have been too many misunderstandings in the past. When the travel agency called to reserve places with us, we told the travel agent that you needed to come to the harbour to book... More

We had a wonderful experience with the Ocean Explorer. Small group ( 10 ), we saw lots of dolphins and pilotwhales even a big whale! The animals are really relaxed with this boat and it's skipper! They cruise with the utmost respect for nature and the whales and dolphins and the whole experience is very friendly and they really take... More

I know it is sometimes hit and miss with nature and promises of what one can see but the pilot whales were magnificent, how Capt Nico saw a turtle in the middle of this vast expanse of sea will never know and the dolphins were just so graceful. If u want to crowd on to a deck and have food... More

Best boat trip in Los Gigantes by far. We have been taking trips with ocean explorer since 2005 and they are the best for seeing the whales. Also saw a hammerhead shark as a bonus.
