Can't understand why this place is so little known, it is amazing. We happened across it when walking to Fort Marlborough and went back on a Saturday at 10am for the guided tour - the only when it is possible (in May). The tour guide...More

Very worth place, even we don’t know the detail of the history we still had great time here. You can see a video here for the history, the deep and dark tunnels for adventure.

If you think building the walls of this castle would have been difficult enough, journey underground and see from where all the rock was hewn. After an introductory film, unfortunately only with the Spanish soundtrack at the present time (English one in preparation), we then...More

The history of Menorca is caught in this visit, but it is for historians or keen amateur historians more than the layman. Great exercise as it is spread-out over a large area.

Although it seems a problem, that there are only two tours a week, this is a must-go place. The guide, a scholar whose name I did not ask, was fantastic! She is a specialist in the history of the castle and the time of British...More

Walked along the Cami de Cavel tracks from S'Algar to Castillo de San Felipe. The guide was a university lecturer who brought the place to life with descriptions of the seige of the castle. The history of the fort mirrored the islands past.

Peculiar timings, but we went on Thursday at 10am and about 20 people were there with us. Tour guide took us into a small room with chairs and explained some brief history of the fort. (Toilets are at the back of this room). About 30mins...More

The notice on the gate said it was open Thursdays and Saturdays in June. We walked back on Thursday and were turned away. so went to the excellent Fort Marlborough instead.

After a visit to the Military Museum in Es Castell, we collected a brochure on this castle and decided we would like to see it. We were only staying about 3k away, so we decided we would enjoy the walk. Careful study of the brochure...More

Access only by guided tour, and you must be there when gate opens at 10, or you don't go. Very interesting and knowledgeable English guide. Took over 2 hours.
