Stele typed sundial on top of the Parnidis dune, this sundial faces the Baltic Sea. The different decorative granite blocks have numbers and the middle post is very tall. A sundial serves as a clock without the hands on the hours or minutes but the shadow of the column indicates what time it is at a certain day. The stele column is 12 meters high. Around the sundial are different views of the Baltic sea, some steps to go down furthers and some statues of significant objects or people.

A very nice stop on our Curonian Spit trip. I still would have wished that I had known that there was a 30 EUR road toll for going there... On top of the 20,50 EUR ferry. But it's worth the cost :-)

The sun clock is nice, we could not tell time from it, as there were tourists all over it :-)

The terrace there offers really nice views over the dunes though.

it is in the Dunes Park, so you can't miss it. I wouldn't describe it as anything special. It wasn't really working when we were there :)

This is easily accessible by walking from Nida. Just before you start the main Sand Dunes walk you will find a large Sun dial. It has an interesting history and on a sunny day it is fairly accurate in showing the time!!

This is a very interesting sun dial, reminiscent of Jantar Mantar in Delhi and Jaipur. It is decorated in runes and I don't know the technical meaning of the markings but it is very cool, there is good view out over the ocean and it doesn't take a lot of time.
