We came here on a tour from our cruise line. The exterior of the museum is a lovely shade of yellow and in good shape. The museum is on the smaller side but has several nice exhibits. Our guide took us from room to room and provided information relative to the exhibits we viewed. There was a nice courtyard there as well. We also had some free time to explore on our own. You can easily see this museum in under an hour. It is also within walking distance of the Cathedral. If you walk or take a bus, you will also see Fisherman’s Square.

Museum contains a collection of local relics, although there is nothingto explain the provenance of anything - in either Portuguese or English. A reasonable way to spend half an hour, but not an essential stop on a tour of the Amazon.

It's a small museum but the pottery from the area is very interesting! Defiantly some unique pieces to photograph.

This museum features an interesting collection of stone pieces from the Tapajoara culture that flourished locally more than 6000 years ago. This building dates from 1867 and has been a jail, a city hall, and a courthouse. There is a small admission fee.
