We needed somewhere to overnight before an early flight out of Arrecife. And we found this wonderful solution. Especially attractive to us since we used to live on a boat (and therefore realised the leap of trust in being allowed to stay on someone else's boat).

Vientos del Sur is a gorgeous vessel. Steel hull. Built in 70s. Wrecked in a storm on the island of La Graciosa. And lovingly restored by owner Jorge. Beautifully and comfortably fitted out whilst still being an ocean-going yacht, she's a delightful place to spend the night. Her mooring is just far enough away from the quayside to ensure quiet and privacy, but close enough to shops, bars and some rather good restaurants.

Jorge and his partner Raquel are excellent hosts - keen to ensure every comfort without intruding on your privacy.

We loved them and our stay. We'd do it again like a shot.

Oh and they also do yacht charters (which we also did and which was a great way to round of the holiday).

We have just returned from a wonderful week's stay on Vientos Del Sur in Puerto Calero. Staying on the boat in the marina is much more fun than renting an apartment or hotel room and Puerto Calero is a very attractive marina with lots of nice shops and restaurants so the location of the boat is ideal. We were greeted on arrival by the owners Jorge and Raquel who explained how everything worked and a nice touch was a bottle of wine and two glasses waiting on the dining table. There are two double sleeping cabins, one at the stern with twin berths and en-suite facilities and a double v- berth at the bow. The standard of accommodation is good and the interior is very attractive with lots of comfy cushions and interesting old photographs. The galley is well equipped and the table and comfortable seating area in the deck saloon is great for alfresco dining. There are sunbeds up on the fore-deck so no need to go to the beach and another big advantage is the provision of free Wi-Fi. There is a shower with plenty of hot water on board but if you prefer you can also use the marina showers which are excellent, an access card can be obtained from the marina office for a small deposit. The boat is also available to charter for sailing with the owner as skipper and his crew at additional cost if required. We went for a mornings sail and it was great fun. We feel that anyone who fancies a change from the traditional holiday accommodation would really enjoy being on this lovely traditional boat and experiencing being part of the marina community. Thank you Jorge and Raquel for making our holiday so memorable.

Thank you very much Jenny and Dave for your opinion, we feel so happy and proud. We have really enjoyed to have you onboard and we wish all guests were like you, so gentle, communicative, friendly and careful with the boat. We look forward to see you soon. Jorge & Raquel

George and Raquel made us very welcome, gave us the history of the boat which was extremely interesting. They also explained everything very clearly. Its clean and well appointed in a superb location with plenty of restaurants and bars a few meters away. The water bus is also nearby to take you to Puerto Del Carmen if you can tear yourself away. GNT's on the aft deck as the sun goes down, breakfast in the cockpit, sunbathing on the fwd cushions, heaven. ( sea swimming possible 5 mins walk away, by steps, from the rocks by the entrance to the marina.) We only stayed for two nights but will definately stay longer next time. We loved it... Thanks for making it possible. Lynda & David

We booked this boat several months ago after extensive research as it something we have always wanted to do. We should have been spending time here in February 2023 however Jorge cancelled with no explanation. I understand that cancellations need to be made from time to time however it would have been nice to have received an explanation.

Well what a great time we had on the boat it was very relaxed and comfortable. we were so impressed with the welcome when we arrived the owners Jorge and Raquel were very nice they explained everything to us about the history of the boat and they told us how to use all the equipment. It was so special staying on the boat and the harbor. there were lots of shops and restaurants to eat out if you wanted to have a change, but we loved eating on the boat listening to music and having fun .the shower was nice and hot with plenty of water.the beds were comfortable,we had such a nice experience and we told others about our time on the boat . others have shown an interest and asked for the details. the owners Jorge and Rachel, ensured that our stay was one we will always cherish as a brilliant experience. THANKYOU!

We live on Lanzarote and decided to spend a night on the Vientos del Sur as a birthday treat for our daughter.

We were met by Jorge who is clearly passionate about the boat, and hearing the story of how it came into his family in the 1970s was fascinating.

Sitting out on deck as the sun went down was so relaxing, and the gentle rocking and creaking of the boat lulled us all to sleep. Waking up to the sounds of the marina was wonderful.

I'm sure we'll be back and would highly recommend.

We booked on Airbnb £246 for 3 nights which was the first mistake as Booking.com for the same 3 nights booked in advance with no cancellation is now £101.
We advised the owners of arriving at midday and the previous guest had left the boat however the owners only arrived at 2.30 pm to start to prepare the boat and we could not check in until 3 pm, it was all a big hurry and a pity as we had to sit at a bar waiting.
The boat is truly a wonderful old clipper berthed in a beautiful marina. There are some problems with engine odours from our point of view?
The internet was not available until the 24 hours into the rental. When it came on you had 1 bar strength and could not open google. We used the internet at bars and cafes.
Whilst we enjoyed the experience we think at £80 a night it was not a good deal.
Jorge and Racheul were friendly, hard working people and maybe didn’t quite have enough time as they have other rentals to look after.

What a fantastic classic boat! A fab 2 nights on the boat, boat is in a great location near bars restaurants and shops .Boat was very clean and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay, it is so nice to see the Marina activity throughout the day .
The owners Jorge & Raquel are so freindly and helpful showing you everything you need to know about the boat on your arrival. We would definitely recommend staying on Vientos del sur to others.
We enjoyed it so much we will be booking for next year.
