Beautiful winery, delicious wines and appetizers, informative tour
May 2019 • Friends
Our group of 45 stopped at this winery for a tour. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the facility where our guide explained the wine-making process and showed us where the wine is made. We were given lots of wine samples and they brought out meats and cheeses for us to eat. Everyone was very friendly and I enjoyed this experience. You can even purchase wine to take with you or they will ship it to your home. Beautiful vineyards.

Great wine
Jun 2017 • Couples
So pleased we made an impromptu visit to this Spello winery. We were warmly welcomed by one of the owners who took the time to explain their wine over a tasting. Unfortunately we were limited in our purchases as we were leaving in a few days. However we do recommend that you visit the winery and try their wines, you won't be disappointed. We hope to be back in Spello next year and will certainly be visiting this winery early in order to enjoy their wine for a longer period!

Nice tour and tasting of wines
Sep 2016 • Couples
We booked a tour and tasting about 30 minutes before we arrived. It is a nice little winery, not too many varieties of wines, just four, but they are all very good. The tasting is nice, included some meat and cheese as well as bread with their olive oil. Our server was very knowledgeable about the wine as well as gave a very nice tour of the facility. Well worth the visit.

We booked in advance and had a wonderful tour and tasting. Really nice people and delicious wine! The owner also checked in on us, a cute Italian man who was happy to see us . Highly recommended!

Nice stop

When we stopped there we couldn't get a tour, but we didn't book in advance. Friendly staff let us taste some wines and oils, with good explanation and some historical background. I'll likely go back for the tour.

Personalized Experience
May 2016 • Couples
Despite an extremely busy weekend at vineyards in the area during Cantina Aperte (Open Wineries Festival), we were warmly greeted and generously offered a glass of every wine they produce. Many wineries charged or only offered their lower caliber wines. When we inquired about the oil the family makes, a huge plate of bread soaked in their wonderful organic oil appeared. The host turned out to be Matteo, the senior Mr. Sportoletti's son. The father appeared and joked and laughed with us as he told us how he began the family operation. Matteo then insisted on taking us through the cellar and showed us the spotless facility and top-of-the-line equipment. It was a truly unique and genuine visit due to his hospitality. Many thanks to the Sportoletti family for not only the fantastic oil and white wine we bought, but also one of our most memorable winery visits ever!

wonderful roadside stop-in
May 2016 • Family
We stopped in without an appointment on a Sunday and one of the owners gave us a private tour. He showed us the entire winery, and then we got to taste some wines. Among them were wines rated between 92 and 96 by Robert Parker. We liked both the white and the red so much we bought a mixed case and it shipped to the US in 3 days - getting home (to relatives) before we did!
