Stunning beach, dogs loved it as much as we did. If you have the time and are relatively fit walk right along the beach following the cliff faces and then when the cliff goes inland walk towards the pebble beach. Once over the pebbles here you will find a steep track that will take you back above the cliff top with breath taking views and eventually you will descend back down to the corner of the beach .

My wife and I recently visited Pendine Sands just for a day trip , the beach is huge and clean. There is a new museum being built which will look back on the speed records set on the beach. Not much in the town itself but worth a visit.

Pendine is undergoing some extensive building works at the moment But generally it looked tired and scruffy Bolting slabs of bark to a container is no disguise The pub on the front was full of young people the worse for wear and not social distancing We will not return any time soon

Amazing lovely sandy beach ๐Ÿ– seven miles long although at some times a part of it is cordoned off for ministry of defence use . When the tide is out it must be about half a mile of sand to reach the sea . The water is very shallow so ideal for children ๐Ÿ˜ƒ over by the cliffs there are some nice rock pools to investigate. On low tide days you can sometimes park on the beach and an ice cream van drives around the beach as well fantastic for a family day out .

The day we visited the main car park was being dug up so a nearby field was being pressed into service as a car park. Thatโ€™s fine, these things happen. When we got to the beach on what was pretty much the only sunny day of the week we found that 95% of it was closed by the MOD who were using it as a firing range! We went back to the temporary car park and headed to Newgale!
