Good Fun But Not Worth The Price Per Head
Oct 2021
I recently attended Adventures Activity Centre with four friends for my birthday; we were staying in Wales for the weekend and I wanted to get them doing different activities, so booked the muddy obstacle course.

The customer service even in advance of the booking was brilliant - I had accidentally booked the wrong date and when I had emailed to double check something, they had noticed that the date was wrong and rung me to let me know and changed this for me free of charge. The centre was also only a short drive from Cardiff, so nice and easy to get to if you're staying locally.

Starting with the positives, it was definitely different! We had a lot of fun and laughs going round the course and it was most definitely WET and MUDDY. It is exactly as described, so if that's what you're looking for then this will absolutely fulfil your requirements! Our guide was a lot of fun and we had a lot of laughs with him on route - a lot of the obstacles are very challenging - aside from the initial 2-3 obstacles, you definitely need a certainly level of fitness/strength to be able to do them.

Constructive feedback;
- We were advised to bring a full change of clothes as we would get very wet (which we did) however, on the booking we were not advised to bring a towel and we therefore made the incorrect assumption that towels and/or showers would be provided to get us clean. As it was, there wasn't any of this. So we had spare clean clothes, but had to get in to them wet and muddy. Wasn't ideal!
- The facilities outside of the assault course were in a state of disrepair - what looked to be a shower room that was being built had been abandoned and was full of "stuff" and the toilets (which we had to get changed in due to a lack of any other area to get changed in) were really dirty
- We weren't able to get any drinks on site - no cold drinks were available and we were told coffee was available for £2 a cup
- We weren't told until we started that the expectation was that we do the course TWICE - once to try it out and once to time it. In the end, we didn't complete the second time around. By the end of the first time around we were very muddy and very cold and there was no way any of us wanted to do it again!

With all of the above in mind, I would say that this wasn't worth the £175 that I paid. £35 per person for what we got is a lot of money and doesn't represent good value. Had the cost have been lower (c. £15 per person) then it probably would have been worthy of a 4 star, as the course itself was fun, however it didn't warrant that amount of money per head based on the experience and the facilities available.

Wet and wild but we were never cold.

Had a wonderful adventure gorge walking with the brilliant Rhys as our instructor. Literally can’t describe the fun and challenges we had today, culminating in an amazing jump from a cliff edge. Rhys was really great and pushed all of us. Thanks so much.

Perfect for groups
Oct 2021
Had an amazing time, beautiful scenery and bracing water...don't forget to bring a towel. It's cold but once you've been in a few times you get used to it!

Would 100% recommend this for an activity with a group. Our guide Owen was an absolute legend, very patient with a group of hung over idiots!

Gorge walking in Brecon
Oct 2021 • Couples
Gareth was our guide/instructor for our gorge walk experience at Dinas Rock- Brecon- we had an amazing time.
Gareth lead us on an amazing waterfall climb, sharing lots of local knowledge about the area, geology and fauna. He then had us jump down the waterfalls into the pools. We were outside of our comfort zone and had a blast while being scared and exhilarated.
We felt safe throughout and Gareth explained the safety features and what to do should anything go wrong.
Very well planned and a great activity- even in October. Gareth managed to capture some great pictures which he shared with us to remember our day by.

Gareth was fabulous - he was a brilliant guide, highly entertaining and supportive, he even brought us sandwiches! (No he didn’t - recommend bringing a little snack to put in his dry bag!)

Carry on canyoning
Sep 2021 • Business
We had a day out canyoning with Rhys and Tom for a work event. 15 of us in total starting at 11am finishing at roughly 3pm back to the cars. Really good time had by all and the staff took care to adjust the trek to our competency level and interest, as well as telling us informative bits of local knowledge. Do remember to take old shorts with you as it is worthwhile and old lace-up trainers (aka, comfy shoes with support that won’t fall off) are a good call. September weather was perfect for us but you never get too cold as the wetsuits keep you warm. They guided us around the occasional group of school kids and negotiated extra river jumps with other companies to get us more time.

All in all, knowledgeable, friendly staff who clearly enjoyed what they did and wanted you to enjoy yourself as well.

Thanks very much!

Gorge Walking- Incredible experience with great instructor
Sep 2021
We went Gorge Walking in the Beacons with this company and it was the experience of a lifetime. There were lots of varied activities from walking through a waterfall, to floating down the river and a massive canyon jump. The instructor Rhys was incredibly knowledgeable and explained the activities really well, throwing in great information about the local area.

We were all encouraged to do as much or as little as we felt comfortable with in a safe and fun manner. This was an activity you can only do in a few places in the UK and was completely worth the trip and frankly I would have paid a lot more!

Fantastic last day of our holiday.
Aug 2021
A great family day out for us all . Our children 14 & 12 didn't hesitate to do all the jumps unlike mum but I still did them to show them that Mum can beat her fears. A great last day of our holiday the sun was shining and our guide Rhys was very informative and was great with interaction with the kids. Could tell us lots of information about the local area we were canyoning in. Highly recommend for anyone.

What a fantastic day! My sons (14 and 10 years old) loved every minute. Our guide Rhys, was superb, guiding us through the amazing sights of the valley. The jumps were thrilling and great fun too, my kids described is the “best day of the summer”. Thankyou
