As I gazed upon this church in complete solitude, I contemplated the life of the early settlers to this region. In fact, there is a story of one of them posted in front of the church. It's a serene setting, a place to quiet your...More

Beautiful little village.... magnificent view. The little church is a wonderful place in the evening to watch over the water and sence the beauty and peace of Iceland. Every day on this Island feels like one spent in paradise.

We stayed at fosshotel hellnar and saw the church from our room. It looks great sitting there in the landscape, with snæfellsjökull glacier behind.

Dramatic location and setting, very photographic. We only saw it from the outside. Next to our hotel, the Foss Hotel.

Nice place to visit, however more impressive is the coastal area with the beautiful arc in Arnarstapi. Advice: Take the hiking route between Hellnar and Armarstapi!
