Clear waters and stunning landscaping. The turquoise water in the middle of the dunes makes the plane (the entire Lençóis Maranhenses including Atins) a unique place, really breath taking. I dare to say it is the most beautiful place I've ever seen.

Early December is a late season for visiting the Lencois as water in most of the lagoons is at very low level or completely evaporated. Best time to visit is end of May to June. Nevertheless I took a van trip to Lagoa Bonita, the...More

Visited Lagoa Azul for the sunrise and Lagoa Bonita for the sunset. Both are very nice. We hiked through the dunes, saw some birds and dragonflies and had a nice swim. Highly recommended

Bonita lake is unreal! The view is simply stunning. There is an initial steep climb but if you can- its worth it.

These are "Must Go" rides if you go to Lençóis. I did Blue lagoon by the morning and Beautiful lagoon by the afternoon. They cost R$70,00 and R$90,00 respectively. Something about 20 bucks. Do Beautiful lagoon in the afternoon because of the sunset view. If...More

Azul is the most visited lagoon, while Bonita is being more visited now. Bonita itself is incredible, but the group of lagoons that you see while in the top of the Bonita circuit is amazing. Don't miss the sunset over the dunes!!

I loved this place! It is so beautiful words cannot explain it! The lagoons was so nice, fun to go swimming inside. The road to get there was awful but it was worth it

I went in the dry season (January ) and the water was low, about knee height, but it was still worth it. The white dunes next to the water make a spectacular back drop whatever time of year. However, I was suprised by the number...More

Yes, they have tour companies that take you there. You'll see tour groups advertising in the city and you can check with the people at the hotel or pousada your staying at.
