The people that work at this beach are the best in the world! Look for Ricardo, he speaks good English and he'll take good care of you. The beach is beautiful and you can get good cheap surf lessons if you look for Junior. The beach bar Lenny's is good and affordable. The only thing about this beach is that... More

We have visited this beach several times over the years and although its development and popularity have increased, it still remains our favorite. The towering palm trees are close to the water and allow for relative privacy even though there may be hundreds of other bathers there. The path down to the beach is lined by well-maintained little shops and... More

Crystal clear ocean waters and slowly shifting sand bars that allow you to walk out rather far into the ocean and be only knee-deep made for an amazing day at the beach! Don't miss this one! A second beach, Playa Precioso is only a few steps away and only separated from Playa Grande by a strip of land that juts... More

I have been to my share of beaches and this is one of the most beautiful beaches out there! We stayed in Sosua so it is approximately 1hr and a bit by car (64kms I believe) but once we got there we weren't disappointed!! The water is warm, lots of trees for shade and if you are hungry, food can... More

This is the finest beach in the area. There were very few people there (June, start of slow season for tourists). We visited a few other beaches (15-30 mins to the north & west toward & in Rio San Juan) and they had much larger crowds (mostly locals). This beach is very big and we only saw a few small... More

I ate the best fish in this beach. This beach is warm and beautiful. We've been here many times and it's one of our favorite beaches to go with our family

This one of the most see beaches on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. Great food and lots of places to relax with the sun shining down and the warm water in front of you.

My family and I visited Playa Grande during a three night stay at Bahia Principe Rio San Juan, which was a few miles away. The trip took about 30 minutes by car. Upon our arrival, we noticed a vast amount of parking space, which was paved and well organized. This is a public beach and there are a number of... More

Short walk from the parking area and amazing view. You can drink and eat there. The vendors can be a bit annoying but are not rude if you are not interested and they do sell some nice things.

I really loved this beach, but be prepare to deal with over 5 vendors that almost harass you into buying. I get that they have to make a living, but they should learn to back off after the second no. Other than that, they have a decent size parking lot, the people are friendly and very accommodating. I did not... More
