Don't even think about it if you have a dog!

Parked up in what looks like a beautiful market town. Almost immediately got back in the car and drove away having contributed nothing to the local economy. My advise - if you must go keep your dog at least 50 metres away from the "gentleman" that runs the plant stall or better still just go elsewhere and put money into local economies that show you a welcome

Went yesterday to view this market having first been to Northallerton market. We spent little time a Masham which consisted mainly of stalls selling plants and little else. Real dissapointment.

We were staying in the pub across from the market, it was a lovely sunny morning so thought it would be good, Very disappointed, could have got everything from any market, nothing remarkable about it

Arrived at the market with high hopes. Unfortunately only about 6 stalls! Absolutely gutted and such a shame. Nice town though

What a lovely hidden gem of a place. Popular with bikers and dog owners. A lovely wee tea room border teas. Sat outside to eat icecream cones and people watch. Local artist exhibition on at the town hall when we arrived which was very impressive. Would love to return to this place. Lovely feel to the square

We have visited the area around masham many times over the past 20 years..It`s an area we naturally head for for a day trip.. The market town has a huge market square featuring various markets, sheep fairs etc,Park up and enjoy the locality there are several pubs, Inns and hotels offering good food, accommodation and a friendly welcome.A lovely church yard worth a seat on a bench for a while. Quite a few bnb`s are also near to the square..A small pretty golf course is a mile away. A huge cricket and bowls field with parking right beside the river Ure. A recommended 25 mile trip to include Masham, is to head away from masham half a mile on the Leyburn road and then tur n left head towards the village of Fearby (the Black Swan is a super place to stay and enjoy really good food) Good walks abound.. on further to Healey another peaceful village, (just sit in the churchyard)..continue on following signs / direction right over the tops and descend down what was (the cote` de Lofthouse featured in the tour de Yorkshire a year or so back) enjoy the spectacular views of Lofthouse and the whole of Nidderdale below. If you enjoy vistas go up to the church at Middlesmoor and take in Nidderdales valley. then down to Patley bridge, a pretty little dales town, plenty to enjoy here..you can return towards a Masham by continuing straight up the main street and upwards via a `steepish` hill towards Kirkby Malzeard and with a map, pick your way back through Grewelthorpe then Swinton, boasting a large house / Hotel and dining. a few minutes down the road , head for the church spire of Masham.. If you can do this on a lovely summers day, well it takes some beating Enjoy all this, but don`t tell too many people, let`s keep it our secret.

Nice market

We went to see the market as it was just over the road from our cottage we were staying in. Unfortunately the weather was heavy rain so it was a bit wet going round. Some great little market stalls selling local cheeses etc. Had a good afternoon cheese tasting from our purchases!!
