The opening to this wide square, both from the northern side (from the Cathedral) and from the south side (from the "Corso") is breathtaking..together with the castle, dating back to the Renaissance, the square qualifies Carpi city center as one of the most inspiring historical...More

Could have been a nice place if the big buildings facing this huge square were a bit less sloppy and dilapidated. Plenty of young people, plenty of bikers, nice cathedral on the background and sloppiness on the foreground. Hard to understand.

I was born in this city, so I visited this square several times in my youth. It's realy nice, especially because it's close to the traffic and lots of people walk or cycle in.

This is one of the largest piazzas in Italy, - really several piazzas adjoining each other, lined with interesting historic buildings and shops. Of course, as with any piazza, the best attraction is the people.

parking (2 Replies)
In the past the apt we stayed in provided parking but this yr it was on a long term lease so we will be in a new rental. It is near Via Vannella Gaetani and Piazza Dei Martiri.....we are looking for a garage and/or web site to ck pricing. We will be there for a month so we enjoy having the car for day trips out of the city and the freedom it gives us. Any help will be greatly appreciated. So excited about our return....most wonderful place in the world !!
