Built in honor of the patron saint of the island 🛐 it was built in 1880 and finished in 1924. From the church starts the procession that, on June 29, carries the simulacrum of Saint Peter through the streets of Panarea. To the saint the faithful and in particular the fishermen 🎣 ask for intercession for abundance and safety.

The church is located in an elevated position but on the southern outskirts of the village. It dates back to the last decades of the nineteenth century but the work was not completed until 1924. The façade, with its usual shape, is simple but is integrated with the spired bell tower that rises on the left; of modest height it is still composed of two orders terminated by the classic triangular tympanum; plastered and colored in yellow/beige, it is enlivened by pilasters dyed white; in the first order opens the only access flanked by two empty niches, while a rectangular window is in the upper order; the cornice at the base of the tympanum is broken to make way for a small oculus. Interior with a single room of medium-small size, with three altars in faux marble on each side, all of the same shape and all surmounted by niches with statues, except in the second on the right, where there is a painting of modest workmanship. More important is the high altar, whose aedicule in Baroque style contains the canvas of St. Peter; on the side walls of the presbytery there are two niches with as many statues and a further niche with statue is located at the end of the left wall, before the presbytery (opposite is instead the plaster pulpit); chantry in counterfaçade, under which to the right is the reproduction of the cave of Lourdes (I think) and to the left is the baptismal font (in plaster). Very sober stucco decoration, which mostly affects the entablature and capitals of the pilasters. From the churchyard you have a decent view, but it is the same that is basically seen from the port. If you have little time available I would not recommend coming to visit this church (unless pushing is a spiritual motivation), being devoid of real reasons of artistic and / or architectural interest.
