Went up with the MTB whitch is a hard climb, nice views on Arco when you do. Castle is a ruin where you can walk around. Didn't like the way at de ticket paystand, you musted have a mask but staff at desk doesn't any, not friendly at all. The castle is mostly interesting for me for the views and you can walk around. In the inner ground the staff is very friendly btw. So liked the views but would like to see with the knowledge that they restoured a bit more.

Nice (if somewhat steep) walk up from the village of Arco, and what beautiful views from the top! Really enjoyed this even though we only had one hour of time.

Climbing through the narrow streets of the old town and a very steep paved path you reach the castle in about 30 minutes. Not good if you have any mobility issues. Signage is a bit unclear in the town to find the best way up hence 4 stars. Entry is Euro 3.5 which is excellent value. The castle is well worth a visit with good information and a video (in English) although most of the buildings are just shells. Fascinating history. Of course, the views in all directions are superb, it’s a long way down!

The castle dominates the backdrop of Arco. Seeing it from below just makes you want to climb it. You start in the tiny cobbled streets before walking through olive groves. Midway there is a big grassy area with a welcome bar. Entrance to the castle keep and tower is 6Euros. The climb then gets steeper so good shoes are a must. Once you get to the very top you are rewarded with views across both side of the valley. There are seats to stop and rest and vantage points for keen photographers to get stunning shots.. It's well sign posted with facts and info plus a short video telling the tale of the Arco family. Well worth a visit.

If you plan to take good pics, go as early as you can (people standing and don’t get it if there is a photograher...) Wear good shoes. Guy at the entrance is helpful. There are some ways to get to the castle. Trust these signs to the way up, sometimes it seems your are on private property, but it is not... Some „staircases“ on this rock are tricky, elders have problems way up and down...
