The castle is interesting from an architectural perspective and has some exhibits inside that are also good. The highlight is the well-preserved chapel with a very ornate interior and the view from a small balcony of the town and surrounding countryside. Stunning!

We loved this museo and the enthusiasm of the guide at the ticket office. The visit highlighted the history and art of this beautiful village and reflected the civic pride and passion of its inhabitants.

Definitely worth visiting. There are various galleries throughout the castle with historic artworks as well as modern art. The chapel at the top was beautiful, and the views all around were lovely.

What a great place to visit! See it at your own pace. The chapel is gorgeous - it is unfortunate that some people do not treat it as the church it is. There is alot to see, so take your time and explore.
Be aware that it does close at midday. Plenty of very close places to eat with very good food.

We wandered round the castle earlier today - very interesting and quite a lot to see. Reasonable entrance charge (€5 I think). Worth a visit. Lots of nice restaurants a few minutes walk from the castle. Take care if driving through the streets of Castelbuono - they are mostly very steep with some almost impossible turns. (I’m glad my husband was driving)!

Just shows what a bit of effort does to enhance the traveller's experience. A huge effort has gone into representing the history of Castelbuono with excellent descriptions, depictions and restoration of this great historical site. You will leave this site greatly appreciative of the efforts made by the communtiy to recount their history to us travellers.

When a medieval castle is built on top of a Roman city, there is a danger that the ruins will be lost. But not here. A lot of the castle has been opened up so you can tour two eras of history. Well marked with a lot of explanations. This can be rare in Sicily, so this is a stunning find in an amazing town.

A wonderful small museo in a fittingly small castel location. Fresh, modern and nicely appointed. Very well done, well worth admission. A variety of galleries from art to artifacts, and a great display of Sicilian puppets. A very nice view of the town from the castel. The town is what makes the visit complete or vice versa. The town is lovely with nice strolls, shops and cafes. An excellent outing from Cefalu for half a day or more.
