This museum is rather small, but there are a lot of interesting items and 4 cabins made as they presumably were 4000 years or so ago.

Ideal for families and children, who seem to have a whale of a time here, especially thanks to the dynamic and friendly staff. Unlike many stuffy museums, this one offers lots of activities.

Guided tour could be interesting and lots of activities for kids outside ( but in italian I feel). Location is interesting and gives an idea of perishable devices used in these times. Pictures of the initial discovery in line with buildup of Riva hydroelectic plant are impressive as lake level went down 11 meters.

A nice selection of artifacts housed next to a UNESCO world heritage site, showcasing the prehistoric stilt houses found on the shore of the Pieve di Ledro. You can still see some of the original archaeology on the lakeshore, as well as a couple of reproduction houses on the museum's ground. Only good for a short visit, and could definately be even more extensive and informative, considering the importance of the site, but a nice short (and cheap) alternative to the mountainbiking, sailing, icecream-eating touristic hubbub the northern lake district normally has to offer.

This small museum houses artifacts and displays lifestyles dating back to prehistoric times and perhaps as far back as the Neolithic age. There is an interesting array of dwelling replicas that can be visited at the site. The information and display of life 4000 years ago in this village on Piles is captivating. It is well laid out and easy to access. It is one of the few sites in Italy that is somewhat wheelchair friendly. We enjoyed the country around Lago di Ledro and this attraction was just one more stop of interest that we were glad we made.
