Both myself, as a lifelong rider, and my wife, who is not, had the most enjoyable few hours on the trail in the Nevada high desert. The stable is well organized from arrival to end of the trail. Beginning with introduction to the individual horse prior to mounting is in it's self an important phase to make a ride enjoyable. Followed by some instruction on driving the horses and practicing some maneuvers in the paddock. The horses were well cared for and not barn sour. Both of our horses were very responsive to the rider's actions out on the trail, and had wonderful demeanor's. Our guide that day, (Jennifer) was a delight and made our visit to the Reno area just that much more memorable. 9/29/2022

My 9 year old left asking me to bring him back “tomorrow”. It was an amazing first experience. These beautiful horses are patient and well trained, you can see they are loved and cared for. My son was timid at first and in one hour with Diana, she and Eros won him over. In a few hours, I have already recommended Heavenly Hoofprints to locals and hope we lived nearby to come over all the time. Worth stopping by!

Four of us rode horses yesterday at Heavenly Hoofprints with Diana the owner leading the way. What a wonderful experience it was, from the moment we arrived she made us feel so welcome. She told us about each horse’s personality and matched each of us with what she thought would be the perfect horse for us. Because we were beginners she walked the trail instead of riding so she could help any of us that might need it. We chose the two hour ride which led us up into the foothills and provided beautiful views of the Sierra Nevadas and Lake Washoe. Diana was so friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time and highly recommended Heavenly Hoofprints!
We flew into Reno on our way to Tahoe and this was right on the way! We visited Virginia City after our ride, which was also convenient to this location!

As my first time, I was nervous and a bit frightened. Heavenly footprints immediately put me at ease with the lesson and one on one with the horse before riding. The owner was friendly, patient and entertaining. The horses were gorgeous and well-trained.

My fiancé and I came here for my birthday in March and had such a great time! It started snowing on the trail and it was absolutely gorgeous! Diana is incredibly knowledgeable and can help with riders from beginners to advanced, we rode Dobson and Bear and they were such great trail companions. Highly recommended, we had an excellent adventure!

Small, intimate experience with horses that are well trained and responsive. Owner, Diana, takes the time to teach how her horses like to be ridden and gives the rider a chance to try out guiding the horse off trail into sagebrush so one feels like a cowboy. Though none of us were experienced riders, we all felt very safe and comfortable on our horses. The ride is through beautiful sagebrush and gains elevation affording gorgeous veiws of the Washoe Valley as well as Mount Rose and the Carson Range further south.

We went there in November, so it was quite cool, but we really enjoyed it. Diana takes great care to ensure you are matched up with the right horse.
You don't do the nose to tail trudge that a lot of rides do. You can ride to the side, choose your own path, even canter (if you are able) over some beautiful scenery.
The rides are run out of a house, with stables attached, which is not a problem, but it does mean the restroom is Diana's own bathroom and there are no refreshment facilities available, so bring your own….and don't forget an apple for your horse!

I was playing on my computer ( trying to learn ) and I found your review from December. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. I'm glad you enjoyed your ride and I don't mind a bit that people use my own bathroom :) I'm working on the refreshment idea. Thanks for the input. Diana

If you want a nice horseback riding experience while in the Tahoe area, head over to Nevada and ride with Diana at Heavenly Hoofprints. This is a small operation that provides excellent trail riding in the hills around Washoe City.

Unlike tourist spots around Tahoe, this riding is not a nose to tail experience where the horses are not responsive. Diana has horses that are well taken care of and if you have a bit of experience, you can lope and trot in a few places.

You will see jack rabbits, lizards and get great views of the valley.
