This church has a lot of history . the legend dates back to 16th century tells the story of how the recipe for Amaretto Disaronno was created. The factory is located in Saronno itself. Inside of the church there are absolutely stunning wall frescos by Bernardini from 16th century.

The sanctuary of Our Lady of the Miracles in Saronno is one of the most important expressions of faith and art in Lombardy. Its origin dates back to the garrison of a certain Pedretto, a young man from Saronno. He was seriously ill and healed miraculously by Our Lady of the chapel of Strada Varesina. Our Lady asked him to build a church dedicated to the Virgin in 1460. People living in Saronno, witness of the Miracle, and then many others wanted to satisfy the Virgin’s desire.

This was a guided tour continued after seeing the Last Supper painting. The tour guide was good and knowledgeable. She sat us down in the chapel and gave us an overview of the church itself. Lots of wall paintings simply amazing and some breathtaking ...its all over the chapel and the tour continued towards the back and the gallery was beautiful. Ancient artifacts dating back to the early centuries preserved. The paintings on the walls were magnificent. I keep repeating myself cos YES...its simply amazing if you love looking at early century paintings and this includes paintings on the ceilings. Its like you keep looking up .Obviously it will resonate with those who are spiritual and do read the bible.

If you just stop in to see the inside of this church, it is worth it. It's very beautiful. If it's closed, just looking at the outside architecture, the statues on the building itself, the cobbled walkway around it, is worth the time.
