Just returned from two days (five dives) with Chris Karrer of Sardinia Divers. Can't recommend highly enough. Leaving aside the great dives (two atmospheric WW2 wrecks, the Nasello & KT12 - both victims of British submarine HMS Safari - and two shallow yet impressive caverns), Chris has an easygoing but professional manner (well he is Swiss!) combined with charm, good humour and enthusiasm both for the sea (he has clocked up 16,000 miles as a yachtsman) and diving. This is a small and personable operation, one which suited me as I was on my own and the only Brit. Nothing was too much trouble - picking me up from my hotel located in the narrow backstreets of Orosei, guidance on car rental companies, warnings in advance about sea conditions and how it might impact on what I could do, dives around my schedule. He's fluent in English, German, French and Italian; equipment well maintained and my Nitrox was always exactly 32% (well, he is Swiss!). In the European winter months he has a Costa Rican operation and if you speak German & English, he is looking for an instructor!

we were there in june 2012, Chris is a fantastic instructor, who took my girlfriend under his wing and guided her through an open water diver course with great care and calm professionalism.
same with my advanced owd course. besides the courses, we enjoyed amazing underwater scenery and great company of Chris and Luca, fresh fruit on the boat and lots of jokes and great humor. Perfect equipment, great care, comfortable and fun boat, combined with enthusiastic optimism and plenty of 'wow' on every dive. it was a best week on holiday we could have imagined. we went diving every day, twice a day, and couldn't wait to start the next day..
We highly recommend Sardinia Divers to all of you interested in diving, even if you have never done it! Or maybe especially if you have never done it, since you would be in the care of one of the top instructors on the planet, who will infect you with his love for all things underwater.
thanx Chris, we are coming back soon

We stayed with Chris in August 2011 for a couple of days to dive in the blue waters of Sardinia. Overall, the stay was very enjoyable - we spend a couple of nights staying at the rooms that Sardinia Divers can rent out which are very clean and quiet - and dived with them for 2 days.
Sardinia divers clearly has the best equipment in the area (all the equipment is top quality and brand new) and the best boat (all the other schools have rubber boats, which are not very comfortable).
Chris, the instructor, is very friendly and eager to explain all aspects of a dive, apart from useful information also very meticulous re safety issues.
The dives in the area are very interesting ranging from German WWII boats like the K42 to amazing cavern dives like "the tunnel" and the "oyster cave".
Overall a perfect stay and highly recommended.

The Team of Sardinia Divers is a group of professional experienced and motivated divers who are highly passionate about the underwater world. We completed our Open Water Diving Cours in just 3 days due to our packed schedule. The hospitality was great: they are kind, friendly and funny (and they even cooked lunch for us!), while always valuing safety, individual needs and interests. The communication and organisation garenteed enyojable diving experiences (we even saw dolphins!)

Our dive supposed to be at 8am, we got email at 7.10am that our dive was cancelled because Sardinia Divers schedule was badly planned. We booked this dive more than two months in advance, yet the centre was not able to let us know at least few days in advance about cancellation so we could plan the dives in another centre... Definietelly not a Swiss organisation.

First i want to apologize for the last minute cancellation, what we almost never do but sometimes unfortunately is necessary.
I can undertstand your anger, but trust me, we are definitively a Swiss Organization with very high safety standarts and a high customer satisfaction level.
Scuba Diving and snorkeling is depending on the state of the sea and the sea is not always calm to permit safe and fun diving.
Due to extremly stormy weather we had to cancel diving 3 days in a row and this messed up our program and schedule. As we had this day to change program as we had to finish Advanced Open Water Diver courses before the students leave and they are too deep for your certification level we had to cancel your dive in the morning.
I personally offered you that we go out only with you two in the afternoon to redo the dives in the afternoon instead of the morning. You refused because you wanted to leave early in the afternoon to the next hotel 2 hours away and where not willing to leave there later in the afternoon (waht was easily doable)
In an case, i suggest always (and i do the same if i dive with another dive operation) that our clients reconfirm some days before as the sea has his own mind and we are depending on the state of the sea to keep our safety and fun level as high as possible.

My girlfriend and I spent a great day with Sardinia Divers, she went snorkeling and I did two dives. Chris, the owner of the base, is a very nice guy, he knows Sardinia under and over the water. As he has been living in Sardinia for more than 20 years, he combines local expertise with his swiss roots in the sense of switching fluently between 5 different languages. Equipment and boat are new and everything is of good quality. Regarding sites I can recommend the wreck of Orosei.

If you are looking for divers who knows the area - you found them. If you are looking for dive-masters that knows what they are doing - you found them. If you look for divers that is multilingual - Yup. That's it. We visited Sardinia Divers for finalizing my teen daughters open water. She was very well taken care of. My oldest daughter and her boyfriend was nervous about going under water, but with skill, patience and friendly attitude, the dive master gave them an excellent start. I can only give Sardinia Divers my warmest recommendations

We chose Sardinia Divers because of the great reviews here on Tripadvisor and they turned out to be accurate.
We arrived at the very beginning of the dive season this year. Chris was so kind to reserve some time for us in the middle of the start up of the season. We made two wonderful dives (KT-wreck and Punta Nera). Chris is friendly and is a very experienced diver.
The equipment is in good condition and clean.
Should you consider diving in Sardinia, I certainly recommend Sardinia Divers!

Hi Julia;
thanks for contacting us.
Yes they can legally dive as minimum age is 10 years.
Sometimes Young childern are mentally not enough developed to be safe divers,
but this depend from child to child.
i suggest that we do a Discover Scuba Diving Experience with them and then we can assess them to see if a dive Course would make sense or is too early.
we are very experienced to Train childern to become safe divers.
Best regards

Thank you very much!! Is diving (when you never did it before) always first a few hours on de beach for instruction the day before or in the swimmingpole for a short time?
Does it make sense to practice here in holland first or is the instruction always required.
Tank you

Yes,
1 afternoon theory and practical training from the beach
if you master the excercises then you are ready to dive from the boat.
You have to practice with us for the Discover Scuba Diving as the boat dives has to be done with the instructor who did the theory and training dive.
The only thing you could start in Holland is the theory and pool classes for a Open Water Diver Course but not for the Discover Scuba Diving.
