We heard about this place from the driver who brought us around the day before and decided to check it out. It was quite a drive from the town to the ticketing stop of the Grand Canyon. There, we waited for the departure time and boarded a mini bus which served as our transport within the protected area. We were... More

I can only say WOW! This place is beautiful but looks dangerous because of the winding mountain road. We bought a tour bus ticket. Boy, the driver drove quite fast. There is places where there is no safety fence on one side. There are falling rocks all over the place on the way from Shangri-la to this place. The trip... More

It's just wonderful to go through this area, to see people at work, the pigs, horses and cattle that wander past. The traditional Tibetan houses with the beautiful window-work....lovely.

China is great with view but this National Park boast even greater view with high land and low land. You may ride the bus which go fast and prepare yourself not to throw up but it saves time to see all major things here. If you have extra time, try to take a walk here but it may cost your... More

This was an overnight excursion from Dali...a large part of the centre burned down but is being restored. Enough remains to provide a sense of how life used to be here. There is a wonderful pagoda in the centre, and a beautiful monastery on the outskirts. Unfortunately you can also see the encroaching influence of Beijing in the new buildings,... More

Arriving the entrance you have to take a bus as usual in 5 star national parks. The bus is filled with 20 loud people and the parks tour guide also speaks the entire drive up (30 minutes) her story. The bus ride up to the first stop is spectacular. You arrive a place with 5 old houses (under construction now)... More

If you are from a Western country, you probably won't find Pudacuo National park where appealing, especially outside of the June - October time frame. But this park was just as beautiful in April and you get a variation in scenery from snow mountains to the canyon.
